He did beat that tool up properly.

Holland's scrap was uneventful.

I'm surprised that Parlett didn't get a suspension.

For ****s sake, I hope somebody destroys Parlett next time we play the Whale. I know Maroon already owned him but he should have to answer to the likes of Rosehill if he wants to run around hitting an 18 year old who happens to be the Ads best defenseman like that.

He was easily a foot in the air when he hit Hampus. That is definitely a hit he should be suspended for.

the AHL is full of losers like that, which i think should be a factor taken into consideration when choosing the development path for an unexperienced and naive 18yrs old European prospect.
It's only a somewhat low factor of risk, but given that Lindholm had a perfect opportunity at home and would have seen plenty of icetime in a better and less dangerous league where he had yet to play and succeed, i don't think there was a need to expose him to N.A. hockey just yet.

Injuries are just as common in any league, the AHL is obviously more physical than most European leagues but there's just as much chance of sustaining a mild concussion or an even worse injury in Sweden.

If management and the coaching staff thought it would be best for his development for him to play in the AHL this year, who are we to doubt them?

Speaking of which, this happened a month and a half ago.

They treated him on the ice for 15-20 minutes (don't remember exactly), he was unconcious the entire time and even when they took him to the hospital. I was sure he was dead, and sick to the stomach.

They actually finished this game today (with the scoring tied at 1-1, with about 13 minutes left in the 3rd period), before playing another full 60 minute game according to the normal schedule. Therefor, William Karlsson was credited with two games today, but with no points.

Lulea won the first game in overtime (2-1) and then the full 60 minute game with 6-0, where Karlsson was a -2. But the whole team looked completely out of gas.

obviously there are chances to sustain a concussion in Sweden as well, but not as much as in AHL.
Smaller rinks, different game, and plays like Parlett's one that are way harder to be found in Euro leagues.

with that reasoning i guess no one should ever question Murray's decisions..

The difference in the probability of getting a concussion in the AHL compared to any other league would be negligible. It certainly would not be significant enough to factor into the decision of where he plays this year.

Murray isn't the only guy who has weight in those decisions. Boudreau, McNab, the scouting staff etc would all weight in on whats best. And for all the struggles Murray has had at evaluating players at the NHL level and addressing team needs, he's done a pretty good job with our prospects.

This isn't figure skating. If you're going to keep a player out of a developmental league because he might get hurt you might as well avoid the NHL entirely.

the point would be to develop the 18yrs old player in a better (especially for a Euro) and safer developmental league.
It's not like he couldn't play in the AHL later, if needed at all.

Anyway, this injury wouldn't have happened in Sweden but that doesn't mean it was due to happen in AHL either.. obviously that's not what i mean/meant; just speaking in %..
and always had the feeling bringing Lindholm in N.A. straight away was forcing the situation and his natural path.

He should play on Friday. Badgers last won on 26 Oct, since then 2 ties and 5 losses.

Story about Lindholm.

Weird how they focus on the so-called "language barrier". Practically every Scandinavian growing up today is almost a native English speaker.

Sorry for what's probably a very stupid question: Is NBC Sports the name of a channel that is not NBC? Or is it a show that airs on NBC?

Yes. Formerly Versus, and before that OLN (Outdoor Life Network). Now NBC Sports.

Our Swedish prospects will really be key players for the WJC team. Brodin, Klefbom and Zibanejad are not competing. I guess that makes Lindholm a #1 D-man, and both Karlsson and Rakell will surely get a lot of minutes.

You're welcome. Also should add, it apparently has been moved recently on DirectTV from channel 603 to 220.

He was on ice for the second one, too. Their coach gave him more minutes as the game went on.
