In the doc, making of Star Wars he said something to the affect, " Good, now I can do some real work.." He also make some backhanded comments about the content. My take was he viewed it more as a kids movie and not serious acting. Now I'm sure he's grateful but back then he wanted out. He asked to be killed off in Empire.

Ford's best work came later in my opinion. Clear & Present Danger. The Fugitive, The Widowmanker & Presumed Innocent.

As long as they come out with another Battlefront, I am happy.

Yeah, I've read that before. Very interesting take on mixing the prequels in. I actually like the idea.

Sounds like it'll be out around the same time as Episode VII...

Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen told investors on an earnings call today that his company's new take on the Battlefront video game mini-franchise "will most likely come out around the same time that the Star Wars movies start to come out, probably in the summer of '15."

Looks like they announced the release date today. December 18th 2015. They'll start shooting spring of next year.

Agreed. They could have been great if they were prequels. Here's another version of that:

Quote:
The next movie in the "Star Wars" franchise will arrive in theaters on December 18, 2015, Walt Disney Co said on Thursday, two weeks after producers hired a new writer to shepherd the script into production. Disney purchased "Star Wars" producer Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion in 2012 and promised at least three more films in the series, one of the biggest movie franchises of all time. "This, obviously, is one of the most important movies we have in the next few years, and we've chosen a date we believe will allow the creative team the time to make a great film," Disney chief executive Bob Iger said in a conference call with Wall Street analysts.

The winter date makes sense. Already have Avengers 2 coming out in the spring and Ant man moved forward. Plus it's a year after the Hobbitt films are done.

Bring it on!

As the article points out, the December release is due to script delays. They fired the original script writer and, now, Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan (writer for The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi and Raiders of the Lost Ark) are writing the script. The studio decided to push the release date back to December (from its originally planned May date) to give them more time to finish the script and not have to rush production, which is certainly acceptable. I'd prefer that they take even more time to get it right and push it back to May 2016--I'd rather wait forever than end up with a Star Wars film that I don't like--but this is OK.

BTW, Universal can't be that happy about this Dec 18th date, since that's the same day that their Warcraft is scheduled to be released. They probably won't want to go head-to-head with Star Wars, so watch them them re-schedule some time before then.

Awesome videos. Actually managed to make the first two prequels look good.

I really can't defend the prequels much, but I've gotten more into the expanded universe and I have to admit it makes things a lot more bearable....I'll still always find it funny though that out of all of the entire Jedi Council only Ki Adi Mundi, Windu, Yoda and Kenobi are the only ones that speak during their meetings. Especially the meetings in ROS when deciding who should go to Kaysheek and Utapau.

I think the worst thing overall during the prequels was how amazed Anakin was that Padme was pregnant.

I mean, in a universe where you can travel at the speed of light no one seems to know where babies come from.

The prequels are seriously so lol worthy these days. Now that the CGI has aged a bit they're just absurdly and hilariously awful. Every speaking scene sends my sides into orbit.

Still rewatch the entire six movies in chronological order and it's amazing how different in tone and quality eps 4-6 are.

I find 6 to be pretty close in tone to the prequels

When you get down to the nitty gritty, IV and V are the only truly great movies. VI and III are decent while I and II are just bad

I thought revenge of the sith was outstanding but I think a poster mentioned it in this thread, it's completely insane how few speaking roles there are for Jedi and side characters, I realize it's anakins story but for a republic spanning a whole freakin galaxy, it feels so small

I might be the only person on earth who likes the prequels. The only thing I didn't like about them was all the lovey dovey stuff in Attack of the Clones and Hayden Christensen in general.

That was me who you're thinking of that said that and I actually really liked ROS. I just wouldn't have minded at least one other council member to speak. Like they showed Plo Koon's death when he didn't say a single word in all 3 movies he appeared in.

Only video I can find so excuse the quality but this sums it up perfectly.
