That implies she'd actually give you the time of day. :

So does anybody have any experience in SAS or work in an industry where it is used?

I took the SAS Base Programming Certification Exam this morning and just barely missed passing (I got a 68%, 70% is required to pass). I'm trying to gauge it's value to decide whether to take it again. Obviously, I just barely missed passing and I have a good feel for everything and I'm pretty positive I'd pass if given another chance to take it. However, it's $180 so I'm trying to guage it's value and it's worth to potential employers to see if it's worth the time and money commitment again.

Any idea from anyone? Thoughts?

I'm sure she'd be nice enough to tell Doak what time it was if he asked nicely

On a completely different note yet also somewhat related, my wife may have her foot in the door of an opportunity to get a new job. This will make both of us extremely happy.

Also my son found out today he got picked for a fairly major role in his school's play. He's a heck of a lot more well rounded then I was at his age. Tae Kwon Do (he tests for his double black stripe belt next week) , plays the double bass and now doing the play. He's also a pretty decent artist (which he gets from his mother as I can't draw to save my life)

Proud doesn't begin to describe it.

Very cool (on both accounts). Out of curiosity, how old's your kid?

That's worked for me.

Give me a first name and a 10-min conversation with someone. Between google, fb, and LinkedIn, I can get last name and contact info. in <5 minutes. Never failed. (No stalker.)

Not intentionally or anything, just an imposing figure. Plus I'm constantly self judging myself in front of him. When dad is a professor with a PhD, GF has her PhD and is working on her post-doc, and brother is an MD, it's hard not to get a bit paranoid just being an IT grunt.

Y'all have a Happy Thanksgiving.
I'll be making sweet potato casserole, turkey, and homemade stuffing, then taking it to the GF's tomorrow about 1:30. She's making the rest, and ceded me the turkey for oven efficiency. I've prepared a turkey every year since grad school - can't break tradition now. Hopefully I'll also enjoy a couple IPAs tomorrow - one while cooking, one after the meal.

Add a couple lines of chorus, and you've got yourself a pop-hit there, RangerFan!

I used mainframe SAS way back in the late 80s at one of the banks I worked at in Buffalo. When I was at CarMax, we used it.

SAS, R, statistical analysis, etc. is always in demand in financial application areas, or where risk models may be developed.

It can never hurt having this on your resume, or working knowledge of the tool.

My wife always makes me watch Gone with the Wind. This may be the worst movie I've ever watched. Hot damn southern people were dumb before/during the Civil War. Maybe because they were always marrying their cousins.

Lets see .. Civil war 1861 to 2012 = 151 years

2012 to 2163 .... Yea, people of that era will think the same exact thing about us

People of the future who may be reading these archived ... Yes as a whole, we were real real dumb
