for some fun perspective

Gagner is 23 now with career totals

366games--77goals--143assists--220pts--180pms -42

another center who came in as a 20 year old here are his stats after 4 years
318 games--44goals--102assits--146pts--144pms--+39

Gagner and this guy play the same type of game according to some

the latter center is always one of the first guys taken now in fantasy drafts

Just to add some perspective--The lockout turned this guys career around and it might happen to Gagner as well

I went with Hamilton.

Plante, Rajala, and Cornet are way past "starting to" for me.

But in all seriousness, Hamilton.

Plante - Thought he was going to be a career AHLer a long time ago
Teubert - #6/7 tough dman in the NHL at best
Rajala - Expected him to be boom/bust

Don't forget Cam Abney. Ill agree with you that Hamilton is starting to concern me considering how much faith and potential I saw in his game during his junior years. Ill admit Lander has heightened my sense as well. I certainly hoped for a lot more offence out of him.

This is Gagner's last year to prove he can hold it down as the team's 2nd line C for me.

Still have hope for pretty much everyone under 21.

Never had much hope for Teubert, Plante, etc.

I don't mind Abney right now.

He's progressing decently and doing a good job of becoming what he was drafted to be.

You can't really blame him for not living up to being a 3rd round pick. That's the scouting department's fault, not his.

You have a good point on selecting him too high in the league priority process but as a team he was a priority and they took him. Either way he has still been underwhelming to me. In the same sense he has moved up a tier this year. I don't blame him, I just don't have high hopes and my faith has somehow slipped from the level of liking him as a scrapper to not caring for him much at all.

Hamilton deserved a year at the ECHL level but after seeing his CHL pedigree it seemed impossible for him to belong especially with his a ability as displayed in his development to perfect a bottom six or defensive game forst while having the hands and head around the net to put up points also. One thing that is similar that I will mention is that he has been injured at both levels shortly after entering the league and in the prior example overcame it very well. Now with the lenience that he is coming off of an injury which can play a part mentally I'm hoping to see the same sequence in evolution return. Time will tell.

Curtis Hamilton, and it's not even close.

Biggest disappointment, for me.

Tyler Pitlick is second; Toni Rajala; Anton Lander and Magnus Paajarvi concern me as well.

crunch the numbers and the style of play early in their careers there is not much difference. For those who were around, the Sedins came back after the last lock out world killers

Awesome, so when Gagner creates an identical twin for himself that is a better goal scorer, IMO he'll be half way there.
