It's too bad about Geertsen but I'm looking forward to having a better chance to get to know Musil's game.

Top 4 is back to being a top end junior group.
Still glaring and horrid. Hopefully, the top four can compensate.

Hopefully this helps out Brossoit - they need him to get back to form if they have any hopes of a Mem Cup win this year

Jarry has been playing great. Goaltending isnt an issue.

Great pickup for the Kings. I'm stoked about seeing him on a nightly basis. This is their year and this helps them in the now. I would still love to see another depth defenceman but you cant get to greedy I guess.

If anything.. at least it should make the Oil Kings more interesting to locals.
Only us crazy avid fans really pay attention to junior prospects anyway

would you want to rest the season's hopes on Jarry when you're going for it all? I know he's been great, but he's lacking experience. Brossoit has to be the guy imo

Im fine with Jarry carrying the load if need be. If he falters then Brossoit is waiting to take the reigns.

Either way they have at least one guy who can carry the mail.

I'm pretty sure the Oil Kings brass would not be fine with handing the reigns to a 17 year old with 20 games experience this year on the way to the chl championship - they need Brossoit to come around - if they split time, great, but Laurent has to be better, and hopefully Musil can help out.

Tristan Jarry GAA 1.21 Sv% .948

Laurent Brossoit GAA 2.93 Sv% .890

With the way Brossoit has been playing, if they want to win games, they will be playing Jarry.

I know the stats. Jarry starts until he falters, then what? My point was Brossoit has to be better, and hopefully the addition of Musil help him. Not sure what you're arguing.

Another option is playing both Reinhart and Musil on the right side, then you could rotate out their partners (much like what Musil was doing in Vancouver this year), then you'd have one of the Musil or Reinhart on the ice for pretty much then entire game.

Nice pick up; you always have to have a top defense.

It wasn't so much that they were rotating his partner as it was them just rotating who gets to babysit Kulak. If they were playing a weaker team, they could afford to have Kulak play big minutes with him and let Musil basically just play defense by himself and if they were playing a better team, hope that Orban can cover for Kulak enough against the weaker competition and have Musil and Vannieuwenhuizen play against the top players.

If the Oil Kings bottom pairing is as weak as you guys say (I haven't gotten to watch them this year), it would definitely make sense to play him and Reinhart seperate though as you say

Brossoit and Jarry are both good goalies. Brossoit hasn't been the same goalie since the memorial cup. If he can get his confidence back there should be no reason why the OK can't be in the memorial cup again.

Im saying Jarry is the better option right now.

Maybe he doesnt falter?

Brossoit has been **** on a stick.

That's reality. Will he be better? Hopefully. But if he isnt all is not lost.

The Oil Kings dont need lights out goaltending. They only need someone who will give them a chance to win games. Jarry does that.

You are saying Jarry isnt capable because he doesnt have experience. Ive been watching every game and I think he is capable.

That is where we disagree.

Must be nice being a fan of a competent junior franchise. 5 years in the league and you guys have already won a WHL championship and are geared for a memorial cup championship.

I've been a Blades fan all my life. While I'm 27, the Blades have had 49 years in the league with not a single league championship or legitimate memorial cup appearance to show for it. Even in years where they do well they flop in the first or second round. I don't think they've won a 2nd round game since the early 90s. Not only that, but in a year when the Blades get a free pass to the Memorial Cup, they ice probably the most lethargic "contender" I have ever seen (and sub .500 results show).

Enjoy it. It's something that as a long time Blades fan, I will probably never get to experience.
