Woke up to this news. I think it could turn out well. You have to remember Revere needed a catapult to get the ball to the infield.

I personally love this trade. Revere's arm is completely worthless in the outfield and he doesn't get on base nearly enough for a leadoff hitter. Worley was great as a rookie two years ago when he was healthy; he finished with a 3.01 ERA to go along with 1.23 WHIP and 3.2 WAR. I would have taken him straight up for Revere but tossing in a top prospect like May only sweetens it.

First the trees, now all the center fielders. Target Field's CF grass better be worried next.

Yup. Looks like Twins don't have many options.

I hope we're not expecting Arcia to jump up right away. And I really hope we aren't giving it to Hicks.

And got overpaid like Dennis Weidman. One reason why teams are so interested in Span and Revere.

Odds that Harvin ever plays another game for the Vikings?

I think he realized that the Vikings aren't as bad as he thought when he played. Now, he just needs to figure out that he needs to be on the field to help.

Twins will not sign a FA CF. Obviously 2013 isn't their goal...it's 2014-15. They will roll with Willingham, Mastrioanni, and Plouffe/Doumit/Parmalee/Hicks/Benson/Arcia in that third outfield spot. It'll be a rough season.

It'll definitely be rough. Who do they plan on having at third, then?

They must have had zero offers for Willingham. Guessing they move him by the deadline when his price goes up and then bring up Hicks?

Call it a hunch I guess but I see the team keeping Willingham throughout his contract.

Maybe we're overrating his and Mourneau's value. If it's only mid prospects in return, I guess no sense in trading them.

Speaking of trades. T-Wolves tried dangling Pek and D-Will for Pau Gasol. I wouldn't like that move. Trades some tenacity and character of our team for a soft inside presence.

I think that's true especially in the case of Morneau. Before his first head injury he was the guy who had the capability of being an MVP candidate every single season. Now he's an unlucky collision away from a career ending injury, and simply the risk doesn't outweigh the reward in any trade scenario another team might make up.

Willingham on the other hand is an interesting case...he obviously had an amazing season and isn't getting paid very much but who's to say he doesn't have a big drop off this season? Plus, he's subpar defensively, and I believe the Twins hold on to him because of the fact that he is cheap and the reward in any trade wouldn't benefit the team enough to justify letting him go.

Yeah don't necessarily like that one either. D-Will is a tough one but I wouldn't mind trading him...Pek on the other hand would be a mistake.

D-Will has turned it on a few times this year. Hes been a lot more consistent than last year and seems to be improving still. I'm not sure I'd even do Pek straight up for Gasol. Especially that contract.

Yeah I want D-Will to do well. If he keeps shooting the 3 at a good percentage that'll certainly help things.

Probably a lot better if they can get a QB worth a damn and show him that they're making a serious commitment to provide a better passing attack...

I watch as little baseball as I possibly can, but judging from comments in this thread, Morneau sounds like a similar situation to Bouchard. Really a player where the risks will always outweigh the benefits in a trade. Keeping him on the team is worth more than any team would be willing to pay for him (even in the baseball world).
