What makes the Blazers so good? If you look down their roster you don't see that many "name" players. It will be interesting to see whether they fall back down to earth as the season progresses. I think it's great that guys like J.C. Lipon and Colin Smith are showing us what they are capable of. I'll be rooting for the team to succeed.

no names will jump out too much, it's just depth from front to back and everyone has bought in. ones to watch out for are connolly thompson ully needham and cheveldave, some are underrated and/or will make a huge jump in ice time next year. they're at their peak now but there won't be a huge drop off. since bonner arrived as the gm, good things have happened. weeooo!!

Why is Portland on the list ? It seems like they're struggling ?

Where does Thrower play ?

So will teams take a flyer out on J.C. Lipon in the next draft?

Surely he's worth a 7th round pick. He has NHL size at 6 feet 181 lbs.

I know most overagers in junior usually put up crazy points in their 4th year, but most of them are 5 foot nothings that never amount to much.

I know absolutely nothing about this kid, any one care to enlighten me?

WinterHawks are 10 - 3 - 1....hardly struggling

Thrower plays for the Saskatoon Blades, now that's a team that's struggling.

Kamloops is one of the biggest surprises Ive ever seen in junior hockey. Still early but 17 games in, no regulation losses.

Quebec and Halifax were expected obviously. Just shocked. Weren't they unbeaten in preseason too?

Before the season started I have to think most WHL fans would have had them as one of the top teams in the league. They were one of the top teams in the dub last season, and the vast, vast majority of their team returned this year, with an extra year of physical maturity and experience. Not a lot of great prospects, but tonnes of very good WHL players.

Tanner Pearson went in the first round as a 20 year old last year. If Lipon keeps scoring at this pace, I don't see why he can't be a second or third round pick.

6 wins in a row isn't exactly struggling

Misprint in the OP confused him, it says they're 4-3-1.

CHL rankings are usually pretty good, no complaints here. Kamloops' offensive explosion is very surprising.

If everything falls into place, Lipon won't make it to the draft. If there is a season, more than likely Lipon will still be able to go to Colorado's camp. Perfect world...there is a signing window just like there would have been if NHL teams had camps earlier this year and Lipon is signed.

Okay, I'm not a big dub guy, good point on how prospects wise they aren't good, but WHL players wise they are.

Yeah really. Four teams in the top 7. Rouyn isn't expected though.

I agree, big surprise, even with Tourigny as coach...

The rise of Dea was shocking.

So was Yanni Gourde... Strange things happen every year... But will they continue this pace? Ditto that for the Rocket too.
