Would changing Macarthur to Kulemin and adding a decent defensive prospect make it more appealing to Wings fans?

And Nyquist... And Jarnkrok... And Jurco... And Ouellet... And Mrazek... And Sproul...

Should I keep going?

I did say defensive prospects, although admittedly I'd forgotten about Ouellet.

Sproul and Marchenko are doing pretty well too.

Detroit's prospects are generally underrated by most, until they become NHL regulars.

Almqvist, Backman, and Jensen are three more that I think have a good shot at being regulars.

The biggest need is someone who can play now. No one player is going to fill Lidstroms void, so it'll have to be done by sound committee.. That committee is a little bit weak right now.

I'll be honest I've never even heard of those 3 before, but I'll take you're word for it. Ah well, guess I was wrong then.

Personally I'm not sold on Almqvist, though he's been playing better recently. Too small and weak defensively. Hasn't improved over the last couple of years that much.

Ouellet, Sproul and Marchenko look good/great.

Jensen is looking ok, according to reports as is Bäckman. Marshall is a long-shot because of he's size, imo. Too early to say about 12 draftees

Almqvist is smart though, players with high hockey IQ and talent like his are hard to come by.

He's definitely undersized, and has a lot of work to do, but I think he has a decent shot at developing into a player.

I view Almqvist as a smarter and more talented version of Meech. I think he'll be a 7th NHL dman on call that can step in and eat minutes while filling in for injuries. To me Billins has looked better this year.

kinda half wrong

the Wings have a decent amount of defensive prospects that have been doing pretty well but other than Smith they are probably all at least a year or two(not counting this year) from being NHL ready
