Daniil Zharkov interview. Open to questions

Howdy Oilers fans,

I have been privy to secure an interview with Daniil Zharkov, 3rd round pick of your Edmonton Oilers in the past draft. Every time I do an interview I find it a great opportunity for fans to contribute by letting them ask any questions they have on their mind of said prospect.

For this I am leaving it up to you. If you have any questions you would like answered, don't hesitate to ask. Don't let me down Oilers fans! Let's hear what ya got.

Cheers.

Honest question. Why is his point production so low after putting on some size?

Is he going to be competing with Yakupov, for points, during the Subway Super Series?

What's part of his game does he think he needs to work on the most and what is his favorite part of his game?

How long before he believes he will make it to the show, and what does he need to do to get there?

What has GM/Coach George Burnett told him about his brief time coaching in Edmonton?

Edit: if anything at all

There is a notion that many NHL teams are hesitant to select Russian born hockey players in the Draft because of the actions of a few players and the lure of the KHL. As a Russian born player, even though you played your junior hockey in North America, did you believe that this was the case in your draft year?

How much contract have you had with the oilers with how your development has been. And in your mind, how long before you are challenging for a job with the oilers

Okay some more question

1- how do you compare the lifestyle in north america vs europe and russian
2- what is your best feature and what do you need to improve on
3- what separates you from the other prospects in the oiler system
4- favorite vacation spot
5- some russian born players have had trouble dealing with how hockey is a religion in canada. How are you preparing for the added stress of preparing for the pressure that oiler fans put on their players
6- a few reports say you do not use your size correctly. Do you agree with these scout
7- how are you adapting to the different size of ice surface
8- favourite cartoon

do you consider yourself a Russian hockey player or Canadian ?

And if it's Canadian, how can you turn your back on a country that gave us Rasputin, perhaps the greatest Boney M song of all time ?

Doubt he's old enough to get the reference. Then again I'm not that much older, but I got it. Thanks for the laugh

Will ask your first question though.

do you feel that your current/past training regimen is good enough to land you in the NHL, or have you made any modifications since you have met with the Oilers staff? Do you devote any extra time practicing on your own and what do you work on?
