WJCs

Time to get this started. Going to be tough to watch as much as I'd like this year with the time difference from Russia, ah well.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet but Molin is going to have a fantastic opportunity lining up with Sebastian Collberg and Elias Lindholm (draft eligible) who is also one of Molin's teammates in the Brynas system.

Ritchie looks like he'll be on Canada's 2nd line, at least to start. Seemed silly not to keep him with Strome and I guess Coach Spott agrees.

Warmup games start on Thursday. The real thing begins the day after Christmas.

Should also mention that Lindell will be playing for the Finns, likely in a bottom pairing role.

I really hate having Uverse. No more NHL Network.

Same here. When I found out about it they took it off about a week later.

That was pretty much the only channel I watched besides Stars/Rangers games and Discovery/History.

Bad first for Canada but its to be expected. I say they come out strong for the rest of the game and get the win

I don't know if I would characterize the entire first as being bad. They dominated the first half of the period and limited the Finns to nothing. Then they started taking some bad penalties and remembered how soft the referees call it in Europe.

If they clean that up they should easily win.

*Side note, Lindell is wearing #18. He is listed as #6 on the main GDT thread in the WJC board but that is incorrect.

Ritchie may be injured. He hasn't played at all in the second and isn't on the bench

Ya took Miller and Ferraro a while to realize he was missing but they finally did near the end of the period. I was getting a bit concerned. They said they will look into getting an update, hope its nothing serious.

Ritchie never returned after the first period, no word yet on the injury. I am hoping it was more a precaution not to come back rather than not being able to.

Molin vs USA coming up in thirty minutes.

Spot said Ritchie is fine, it was more of a precautionary reason. That's a relief

Nice wrister, but maybe a little lucky that goal went in. Next shift comes out and has a slick one-on-one move around the defender. His line has been dominant so far.. like what I see.

Molin has played pretty well this game. His backchecking has really stood out to me and he's also created a few scoring chances. Hopefully he comes to North America next season.

Brett Ritchie (UBI) & Charles Hudon (back) both left practice early & both are unlikely to play on Saturday against the Swedes

Leaving practice early concerns me. The thing is that Canada has replaced Hudon because his injury is serious and he will not be able to continue for the tournament. No replacement has been named for Ritchie so I guess they are hoping he will be ready to go Dec. 26th

Probably won't see Ritchie in any of the remaining expedition games.

Good news,

Mark Masters ‏@markhmasters
Spott on Brett Ritchie: 'He's a little bit sore, but the good news is he'll play on the 26th ... we dodged a little bit of a bullet w/ him'
