NCAA: Highly talented players without real NHL-potential?

Hi you all NCAA-fans. There are many articles about NCAA-players having some NHL-potential, but I know there are also many talented guys in NCAA who are maybe too small or something for playing in the NHL.

Can you name some absolutely good players whose future could be brighter maybe in Europe. Jack and Chris Connolly for example from last season. How about Steven Whitney from BC?

Well for one, north dakota's brendan o'donnell is a pretty slick skater with decent size and has formed quite a threat with his fighting sioux fellow and linemate coltyn sanderson. Honestly, cant really see either of them making it to the show as they both have some issues adapting when the game gets rough&tough. Larger rinks with less grittyness and truculence @ europe might be a good fit.

Another guy I can quickly think of, Brock Montpetit. Lacks speed and hustle, but watching this guy play the thing that instantly comes clear for anyone who has ever played hockey at any level is that this guy has the most valuable asset you can have in the game of hockey (or any other ballgame for that matter). He's pacing of the game and distribution of the puck is really a work of art. Absolute wizardry with the puck, knows where he's teammates are (and more importantly where their going to be) at all times. And the greatest thing with vision is that you either got it, or you dont. Doesn't matter time or place. Give him little time to mature and im sure some pro club overseas will be more than willing to enjoy his services.

This is the same for every league. Some guys make it some guys don't. That's why you see guys from every league in the NHL and some guys from every league overseas.

Yeah, of course. But when watching games and knowing players you can anticipate who's gonna get the chance to play in NHL. I can name you a thousand players from European professional leagues that I know they're never gonna get the chance.
