Avs get a high end player who i firmly believes future lies in the LW slot, not the centers

Pass. I think the Avs would rather have Duchene, and we certainly would not add Downie to Duchene to get Couture.

I'd prefer to keep the center who is younger, already has more NHL experience, as well as having had a higher career best in point totals.

Duchene = Couture, each team would rather have the player that has been in their system, Avs won't add Downie.

What was Couture doing when Duchene was putting up 67 points on a 29th place team? Oh, he was putting up 56 points on a Stanley Cup contender while being 2 years older.
CLEARLY, he's the best player in that deal.
I just wish all these
Avs fans would stop trying to trade away our players like Duchene, Stastny & EJ...oh wait, they're NOT.

Why would we trade for Coutoure when he's gonna sign here once he makes it to FA. His best buddy is already here and loves it!
In all seriousness. I'd rather keep Duchene, adding Downie on top is a bit over the top. As i'm sure Sharks fans would rather keep there guy.

Couture isn't worth Duchene and Downie, so this proposal is pretty much closed.

I like Couture more than Duchene, but I'm not sure Avs need a Couture more than a Duchene when they already have Stastny and O'Reilly. I think hanging on to Duchene and see if he can turn into the game breaker he can be would probably be worth it to them.
