Germany dominates, Austria ties it up. Nice shot by Lakos.

As it stands, France are through.

Nonsense. Latvia is simply weak. One of the weakest teams in the tournament, and weakest in the "elite" division.

You mean why in Germany again ? Because Germany was the highest ranking team along with Latvia and Denmark and that is why they are hosts.

As far as I have understood, France have to win by at least two goals in order to go through, if they win by less than two goals Kazakhstan go through, and a Latvian win puts them in Sochi, is that correct?

And in the other group, does the winner between Austria and Germany go to the olympics?

Austria just needs to get to overtime - Germany needs to win in regulation.

Anyone else have another feed for Austria-Germany? the one posted doesn't work.

- If France beats Latvia by a single goal in regulation 1-0, 2-1 or 3-2, Kazakhstan is in.
- If France wins by two goals or by one goal in regulation but on a score higher than 3-2 (i.e. 4-3, 5-4 etc), France is in
- If Latvia loses in OT or wins, Latvia is in.

I'm so tense right now...

Latvia tie or win: They are through.
France win by one goal: Kazakstan are through. (due to goals scored, I believe, so can't be too high score)
France win by two goals or more: France are through.

France is totally whipping Latvia. We have no defense.

Germany takes the lead - Michael Wolf with the goal - 13 minutes left. Someone teleport Vanek - Austria needs to tie it up!

No need for Vanek - Austria ties it up! Markus Peintner - 2-2 - 7:38 left.

Wow, what a goal, Austria ties it up again.

7:38 to play, Germany needs a goal.

What surprises me is how easy French players stop Latvians in France's defense zone.

Nations like Denmark, Latvia and Germany are better when they're underdogs. I think the fact they're not used to being favorites and dictating play have come to haunt them in these qualifiers. Always easier to play defense and counter-attack. Latvia still in it though.
