Leafs Morgan Rielly discussion.

Morgan fought late in the game against Eric Walker On Sept 22. Eric Walker is another former Notre Dame Hound.

He definitely lost the fight but still nice to see.

What I loved most about that clip is he received a pretty good hit and bounced back up in a second.

Given his style of play, it's good to see he's willing to take a hit or two to create a scoring opportunity.

Good to see. Definitely something that was understated when he was drafted and suggested he doesn't have much of a physical presence on the blue line. It just shows that Rielly is not just a PP QB, or puck rusher, but can be used in all game situations.

Morgan threw a bigger player to the ground and then got up and hit him with 3 real good shots....a draw is fair.

Morgan has always played this way....I saw Morgan score a hat trick in a Midget AAA game ......all short handed! He is not at all a one denominational player.

Don't know which fight you watched. Rielly showing some grit, love it.

Love it. He got the takedown even though he kinda ended up on the bottom.

He showed up, was willing to go and didn't come off too badly. That's more than I could ask of him.

If Morgan can play with a bit of sandpaper and be resposible in his own end, we all know the offence will be there, then this kid is going to be real good. Nice to have him and Jake the Snake QB-ing the back end for many years. Now we just need to draft some forwards, most importantly a center.

Have you ever been in a fight on skates?

He threw the guy and got hauled down with him.

People need to take into account that Rielly's gloves came off a full 3-4 seconds after Walker's. He didn't want to fight, but answered the bell.

Pretty nice bout. Nice to see that he can step up for himself when needed. Plus, just fun watching him throwing the guy down even if he went along with him. Definitely a draw, guy did not lose that fight.

My favourite thing about that clip is how, even in some tiny/random segment of play, he still stands out as being really dangerous with the puck. This has been the case every time I've seen him play, you don't have to look for him at all, his skill stands out immediately.

As for the fight, he lost, but still did fine for a finesse player.

Good to see he stands up for his team mates and is not the turtle type player. On the flip side I don't like seeing this from our top prospect when it's not expected from him, It doesn't take much to tweak or break something falling awkwardly. All in all good for him for showing he's not afraid to drop the gloves but it's not in his best interest or the leafs best interest for him to be doing this kind of stuff. There is a lot invested in this young guy.
