Why no season in review DVD?

With Christmas just around the corner, why is there not a Winnipeg Jets season in review DVD hitting the stores? This seems like a real miss by the club, as plenty of sports teams will do a season review DVD for even the most mundane of years.

I agree a DVD would be pretty top shelf.

Randy Turner of the freep wrote a book about it.
Think its about 25 bucks and looks pretty awesome

I was wondering this myself.

The Jets return was a huge event for Winnipeg.

A DVD based on the inaugural season is a no brainer.

I'd love to have a DVD like this. I remember as a kid get Don cherry videos hoping to see jets players in it. Does he still release yearly DVDs?

With my absolute zero knowledge in these situations:
Could it be that with the lockout the team doesn't have the ability to get approval from the NHLPA for new merchandise???

This would be the first BluRay (or DVD) that I have purchased in 10 years. For the last 6months, I've been going back to youtube to get my Jets highlight fix.

I propose we make our own YIR. Start a thread embedding the best highlights we can muster from Youtube

Yes, I think it absolutely has to do with the lockout. The team cant even have pictures of players along the side of its website, so releasing a video filled with players is probably not okay. I sincerely hope this is a project that has been undertaken by the Jets, and that they will be showing the DVD in theatres like Montreal did with their movie, Pour toujours les Canadiens, before it was released as a DVD.

Maybe they can release the season soundtrack on an 8-track tape.

Actually now that you mention it, I did just that a few months back. Hadn't thought much of it in the last while since I'm barely thinking about hockey during the lockout to avoid getting pissed off.
