If this bridge is supposed to level with the West Balcony, I don't see how it can interfere with current sightlines. You have to walk up a level from the 400's to even reach the West Balcony.

It won't affect sightlines, but you won't be able to see the Gardenvision.

Right, but I think the top of the 200s are actually higher than the old 400's. Higher, steeper, closer to the ice.
The top of the 200s will be affected with sight lines IMO. I have a Knicks mini-plan at the bar stools at the very top of the 200s and those are even higher than the regular seats. It would be nice if they somehow curved the bridges slights back instead of making them straight across.
The top of the 200s in now the 11th Floor, so the center scoreboard will be blocked. Can't imagine the ice/court itself being blocked but who knows until they're built.

exactly, who knows until they're built. They all have these great intentions but things fall through the cracks. Prime example, the 400 level. Nobody with any AUTOCAD skills was able to figure out that the last couple rows would end up not being able to see the goal. OOPS

Do you think they honestly didn't know? Or did they figure that would be an issue, but they could still sell the tickets at X cents on the dollar, which is better than eliminating them altogether? At the end of the day it's all about money.

IMO I think in this case it's all about designing for the Knicks smaller court and neglecting to consider the wider Rangers rink

By "wider" rink, do you mean it's wider than a basketball court, or did the Rangers change the rink size to get up to par with regulated rink sizes during the last renovation?

I've heard that this summer they're supposed to re-build the concrete on the floor and install a brand new ice plant
A lot of STH in the 400's were relocated to the West Balcony when they got their seating assignments back in March.
Yea basically an entire section was relocated up there and its a 20 buck price difference per ticket, I would have been pissed. They moved me over 2 sections towards the net, still row 2 though.
Personally I think the demand for those first few rows in the blue seats will go up because of the lower cost compared to the regular 200s upper bowl sections when the bridges get put in. Its basically the main reason why I wanted to be there, I didnt want bridges in my field of view nxt year and at 22 years old, I cant forward to pay the ticket prices to be in the first 10 rows of the 200s. If I had the money I would want those row 1 of the 200s seats, I think they are the best in the house.

Absolutely, at least in terms of value. As far as best seats overall I still think I'd rather be by the glass...but not at $300 a pop. I worked with the reps during the annual seat upgrade period the last few summers to position myself so that I'd be able to relocate to the first row of the new upper bowl after the renovation and I'm happy it worked out. I dumped my rear corner 100s and moved to Row 1 on the aisle, and after a bit of a battle got them to give me seats in Row 2 on the aisle as well (was in Row B last year but they moved me to Row 3 and killed my aisle originally.) Both sets are on the good end to boot. I just started posting them for sale and the response has been great. Considering the additional leg room, and much improved sight lines (no more people walking around the arena in front of you) people are really interested in sitting there. I'm looking forward to checking them out myself on Sunday. Let's get this season started already!

I was in 410 last year and was re located to West Balcony. I was able to slide back into 418 when they had the relocation process.
The 400's coincide to approx row 11-17 of the 200 levels in terms of how high they are. They are also cheaper than 200's and will not have the bridge issue.
So, I totally agree that they will be in higher demand moving forward.
Also agree that first few rows of 200's are best seats in the house. Row 3 of 200's would seem to be the best combination of price/view in the building.
