I'm honestly shocked their scores aren't much worse.

to be honest, I kind of stopped scoring a bit in the third period because it was getting pointless. Also, as you can see from prior games, getting close to 0 points is not really good as an average game will most often leave a player with around +3 points or so.

Isles stopped scoring a lot earlier than that. (ba-dum-bum)

This was just brutal. One of the worst efforts I've seen from an NHL team.
But hey, what else was to expect? Afternoon game in those dreadful third jerseys. I wonder what the team's record is when wearing those jerseys since the beginning of last season.

So Strait was our best player at 0 and he didn't even play half of the game. Good stuff.

The funny thing is, the direction of the conversation and posts in this GDT are as lost and clueless as the on-ice product.. I tried to go back a few pages to get a better grasp of what points are being made, but it just gets more confusing... The on-ice product is affecting our sanity... lol..

Here are some random thoughts from myself that may or may not make sense:

1) I think Cappy must go. If not tonight, after a loss tomorrow.. Cappy must go.. Weight is our future coach and let the future begin asap!!

2) For the second year in a row, Okposo starts the season out in invisible fashion. He had Tavares, who is arguably one of the top 3-5 scorers and leaders in this league, as his centerman to start the season, and still came out flat. We are getting to a point where we need to make an example out of someone, as well as improve the team. An Okposo trade would wake a few people up. The example would be, there is no room on the team for floaters that show little passion... Sitting Okposo would just decrease his trade value and put us in a position where everyone knows he is on the trade block. Therefore, try to trade him before sitting him.

3) Hold everyone accountable and play the people who deserve to play, regardless of salary. It was obvious to everyone other than Cappy and maybe management, that Cizikas was ready to be our fourth line centerman and an upgrade over Reasoner, many weeks ago, if not last year. It looks like Aucoin's magic scoring wand may be lost after the quick start. Play the players that show passion, confidence, and some consistency......

4) Get Nino, Nelson and Donovan warming up in the bullpen.

Just some random thoughts of where I would start after today's loss.

I think getting killed 7-0 is probably a good thing compared to losing tight one. This loss will wake up the players and make them more hungry tomorrow in a must-win game against Ottawa who won today against NJ.

Four players that need to go ASAP

Andrew MacDonald
His puck skills and hands are just awful. Every shot he takes gets blocked and initiates a rush for the opposition

Frans Nielsen
No one does a better disappearing act when this team is at even strength. He's good at shootouts and breakaways. Big deal

Josh Bailey
Isles should have just kept trading down in 2008

Colin MacDonald
We already had one crappy MacDonald. Now we have two

Really and replace with who? "upgrade" to reasoner, boulton, and two callups from the bridge(since hickey needs to play for strait)? terrible game but the sky is not falling... i actually thought mcdonald was one of the few who hustled in the third period...btw, did you see moulson today? he of the olay defense waving his stick as guys blow past him on multiple occasions or turning his back so a flyer might hopefully run into him on the boards rather than using his body? if you are going to vent please add him to your list.. he was atrocious today...

I have said for a year and a half that Moulson is so overrated and simply feeds off JT. If they traded him tomorrow I'd drive him to the airport

This can't be more inaccurate. Amac has been our best shutdown defenseman easily, and his shot blocking is on point. Frans isn't a second line player plain and simple. His skill set is for a 3rd line center, at which he'd be completely fine. Bailey has shown he's gotten better since being moved to wing, and Cmac should be a 4th liner.

The two main players who have to go are Okposo and Streit. Okposo simply just sucks, and Streit doesn't have it anymore. Defensively at least.

Amac doesn't need to go he just needs to move down to second or third pairing. He's not a top pairing D-man but is being force into that role because we have no one better.

Not sure what game you watch but A Mac stinks. My whole section today was screaming at him to get off the ice. You guys understand that we're in last place every year for a reason. Our team stinks. We have a handful of good players, one great player and a bunch of unskilled hacks like AMac, Bailey, Okposo, Nielsen, Colin McDonald and Joe Finley. It's time to turn the roster over

I couldn't agree more with every comment you made. Every player you listed needs to be move off the roster. A Mac is absolutely horrible in every way. He's not good offensively and very weak defensibly. It's painful to watch...

Boyes single-handedly killed the 5-3 by himself. Bad blind pass, couldn't keep the puck in, missed it along the boards, and missed the net by a mile to clear the puck.
What the heck happened to MacDonald? He really looks bad right now. That first goal, ugh!
Did Okposo really get muscled off the puck by Gervais late in the game? Double ugh!
Capuano couldn't even show anger in the post game interview after this game, really?!!? I think I heard him say it was execution and not effort?!? Triple ugh!
Going to miss Strait.
Please, please, please get rid of those black jersey's

Doug Weight the coach I hope it's not the case. I want a real coach, not an ass kisser! Brent Thompson please!
