Hopefully Dumba is cut tonight; he's looked so bad today, and wasn't good last night either.

Corrado is getting some serious love in the Roster Thread on the WJC Board at the moment. More than a few are pencilling him into the top six.

Fingers crossed for Frankie - hopefully Hockey Canada views it the same way!

Looks to me like it's down to Sproul, Pouliot and Corrado for the last 2 spots. They'll probably carry all of them until they know whether Ouellet can go.

If he's not on the roster then all that means that he had no chance coming into this camp in the first place. He has outplayed every other candidate for the 3rd RD spot by a huge margin.

I believe you; I haven't had the chance to view anything other than the highlights from last night's inter squads, but the guy plays a well rounded game and has a little leg up on some guys by being a bit older. Not surprised at all that he's having a solid camp.

I was just more amused at how quickly he's winning some people over; there's definitely a resistance towards praising anything and anyone Canuck related from some (many) corners of HF.

It's pretty hard to rag on Canada's leading scorer in these tryouts.

Game over

Corrado with the only goal for Canada. Announcers specifically named Corrado as a guy making it hard for coaches to come up with roster decisions.

edit: have to agree with Tiranis. Drouin is another guy that is making it hard for the coaches.

I still think Corrado and Sproul should get spots on the team.
Still? Pretty sure he was saying the opposite last night.

Drouin had a great game. It's going to be hard for them to cut him.

It seems to me they wanted to give a few of the X factor guys like Dumba enough rope to either hang themselves or do rope tricks. At least with Corrado they know what they will get game in game out, they probably don't need to see as much of him.

Man, I'm really liking Corrado. Reminds me a lot of a superior offensively Tanev.

He's also more physical than Tanev, especially on NHL sized ice. Doesn't show up as much when you're on the big ice like they were in this game.

So ... (for those of us catching up)... Corrado scored the winner in the inter-squad game then scored the only goal today?

Saw Pelach and Pouliot cut..

So Hamilton, Harrington, Dumba, Reinhart, Oellett, Rielly, Sproul and Wortherspoon are left besides Corrado?

So Corrado needs to survive 2 more players cut?

Also is Subban playing as bad as it looks?

You're missing Murphy.

Yes on the first 7 shots but then he was better. I don't think it really matters though. Just a bad game, he's still a lock to make it and be the starter (for now).

Final Cdn jr cut was Rimouski F Francis Beauvillier. To recap, Pelech, Pouliot, Monahan, Graovac + Beauvillier. #cbcsports
Corrado clears first round of cuts.

He's going to need to make it in along with one of Dumba, Murphy, Sproul and Wotherspoon.

Even though I don't think he deserved it, it's good for Frankie that Pouliot got cut. He had a solid game today.

Right Murphy. Thanks Tiranis.

I figured Subban was a lock.

Just wondering if any of the other goalies who I don't know much about look good.

Just one. They'll cut 1 goalie, 3 D, and 4 forwards tomorrow night.

Based on what I've seen, I think Corrado has made the team.

However, Hockey Canada base their final selections on a body of work...

Regardless, I believe the final cuts will be 3 of these 4:

Wotherspoon, Dumba, Murphy, Sproul

Locks:
Hamilton
Harrington
Rielly
Ouellet

Looks like they made it:
Reinhart
Corrado

The wild can't be too happy with Dumba. He's going to want to improve his play this year.

Hrm... haven't seen enough to do a real comparison but Mackenzie and Ferraro were heaping some pretty big praise on Corrado tonight. Really the only d-man they talked about.

I always liked Corrado but never thought he'd quite be a team Canada d-man.

Seems like he really has locked-down the Tanev ability to keep it simple.

All 4 goalies have been excellent. They're making it pretty hard to cut one.

He made mistakes but he also made some nice plays. Other than Dumba, I don't really have a problem with the cuts. And I guess with Dumba they're trying to give him another chance given his history with Hockey Canada.

I guess it's first cuts.

Who are the locks on forward?

RNH obviously, MacKinnon, Huberdeau, Rattie, Scheifele, Strome, Jenner...

Leaves 5 or 6 spots for:
Camara, Catenacci, Danault, Drouin, Hudon, Lipon, McNeill, Ritchie, Shinkaruk, Wilson?
