If a player doesn't make it due to injuries, does that classify him as a bust? Because when on the ice deHaan has looked great. I'm 100% certain that if not for the chronic injuries, he'd already be a staple on the Islanders blue-line. Obviously that doesn't say much considering the state of their defense, but still I think that would put him far from "bust" status.
Boom - Nazem Kadri. way too much skill, still shows his solid play-making abilities in the AHL despite his point totals, plays with intensity and grit, I see a very good top 6 forward down the road.
Bust - Joe Colborne and Carter Ashton. Colborne seems to lack drive and effort nearly most games I have caught off him, and he has consistency issues. Ashton hasn't shown me much of anything aside from being strong along the boards and decent defensive play.
The Zemgus Girgensons being a bust, confuses me as well. He was drafted early, not because of his O-game, but because of what he does defensively. He's made the immediate jump from Junior to pro months after being drafted, and has been doing everything and more that was expected of him from Draft day. I think he's a solid guy. I don't think he's going to be any fantasy owner or poolie's wet dream, but as an NHLer, I think he'll be as advertised. I could see if he wasn't playing on par to his draft selection. How many 18-year-olds put up 4 points and are an even in 10 games, I imagine playing limited minutes at the pro level immediately following their Draft? Was he supposed to be tearing the league in scoring and putting up a plus-10?
