1981 Re-Draft

Let's say you could have the chance to re write the pass. What would the top 21 look like ??

Here's my top 5;

1st. Ron Francis
2nd. Al McInnis
3rd. CHris Chelios
4th. Dale Hawerchuk
5th. Grant Fuhr/ John Vanbiesbrouck (Been a huge fan of him during the Panthers long playoff run)

What would your top 21 be ?

Gilmour was passed over in the 81 draft(they had a rule you could only pick 18 year olds in the first 3 rounds). Oates actually could have been picked in 1980 or 1981 and Thomas first year eligible was 1981

Thx for the re-draft. I just couldn't put Hawerchuk ahead of ither McInnis or Chelios since they both had huge career and played such a big role on USA/Canada history. Each one won atleast one Cup and were leaders. Yes Haherchuk was a dominated player back in is prime but lasted like what 10 years compare to Chelios 26 years and MacInnis 23 years.

you might want to see who took the face off on this goal(arguably the second biggest goal in the history of Canada/Russia games)

Thx for the info but I was simply talking with the player's drafted back in 1981. Who would be in the top 21? Same thing with Brett Hull, he was draft eligible back in 1982 but was drafted only back in 1984. So let's be focus and please re-draft them.

Looking at that play now Hawerchuk should have got a penalty for interference(which opened up room for Lemieux)

This.

Can't do a re-draft and ignore guys who were completely passed on. They were just as available as the guy picked first and last overall

I kept switching Hawerchuk with Macinnis because I couldn't make up my mind. Probably have Carpenter a bit high too
