But they lost in the past 2 years!! WHERE DOES THAT FIT IN YOUR RATIONALIZATION?!?!
Yeah but overall we have 15 titles.
Canada U20 is not starved for champions, only the Habs are starved of champions, with the failure of the 2012-2013 season habsland will be completing a 20 year fast.
I want Galchenyuk to win something this year. Sarnia Sting won't win the Memorial Cup. He won't win the Calder Cup with the Bulldogs. But USA can win the WJCs, with Galchenyuk on the 1st line and Seth Jones on the 1st pairing.

I think you mean the failure of the 2011-2012 season.
I would love for Gally to win the WJC with the U.S.A, but with how strong teams like Canada, Russia, Sweden and Finland are in terms of talent and overall depth, I think it's a bit unlikely, but definetely possible.
I'll go out on a limb and say yes, he is NHL ready. Would it be in his best interest to play a shortened season where we aren't competing anyway and burn a year off his elc? Nah.

I'd rather Gally win tournament MVP and loose in the finals to Canada. That would be the best possible outcome for Habs fans IMO.
This. He would gain experience from it and learn how to be the go-to guy when it comes to leading a team in terms of offense. But for how many top prospects that aren't in the NHL due to the lockout (Yakupov, Huberbeau, Strome, possibly RNH, etc.), I don't it's likely, but it's possible.
I want Gally to scorch the tourney, Canada included. Habs come before team Canada for me, ainec.
I honestly wouldn't mind if the U.S. won in the finals against Canada (hypotectical), and agreed the only reason I watch the WJC is mostly to watch Habs prospects perform on the biggest stage in junior hockey.

I do always cheer for Canada, but with a game breaking prospect like Gally on the other end there is no doubt who I am quietly cheering on this year!
Team Canada has stunk since they won in 09 with PK.

True, the last few years have been medicore, but maybe we're just really spoiled too? On paper, the last 3 teams have been decent, but its tough when you lose your players to the NHL.
The team this year should be good. I don't think the NHL will start up in December, so that should give us a chance to see some of our very good players. Players like RNH, Huberdeau and Hamilton should dominate this year.
I will also be cheering on the USA because of Gally. I can't cheer against Canada, and I do want them to win, but I wouldn't mind the US getting the silver and Galchenyuk being the top scorer in the tournament

Hear you on that.
Gally will be against some tough customers to win that scoring title though, like you said with all the Nhlers that normally wouldn't be playing.
My dream: Canada wins. MVP: Charles Hudon.
1st team: Hudon - Galchenyuk - Collberg, x - x
2nd team: Bozon - Vail - x, x - x
We have no player from 2011 draft that could play in this tournament ?
Both Beaulieu and Pribyl just miss out because of December birthday's, born a month later and they'd be in it. The rest aren't even in the running for their respective national junior teams.

Bozon would be playing for France which isn't in the Top Division. He would be playing in Division I, but not sure if he will play in this tournament or stay with Kamloops.
Which other prospects will compets in the juniors? Forsberg?
If there's no NHL by then, the list is long.
If there is NHL hockey by then, this is my best guess among other drafted high 1st rounders:
Sweden
Forsberg
Zibanejad
H. Lindholm
Russia
Grigorenko
Canada
Rielly
Reinhart
Dumba
Scheifele
Strome (could be with Isles though)
USA
Trouba
Czech Republic
Faksa
Finland
Teravainen

I always cheer for Canada at the WJC, but I agree the last 3 years have been disappointing. If Gally doesn't win the MVP award, I hope he at least comes very close.

I'd say their goaltending has stunk and that sours things as we've not had a tender who can keep Canada in a game for the big win.
Also, they've become too obsessed with being the most physical team at the WJC and bringing along a liability like Della Rovere or Cormier. Should skate more skilled players and worry less about being the 'toughest' team out there.
