Just put a random USA address. They give you the keys through your account so it won't be getting delivered anyway.

I don't know if I should make its own thread for this, but I think this is the reason why we haven't seen HL3/HL2E3 yet. Source 2 Engine is being made (don't think it's the exact name, but still).

so i logged into EA's Origin today and was greeted with a popup saying that Battlefield 1942 was free ...so of course i grabbed that.

if interested, u should load it up (Origin) and see if the offer is still there.

also, the new Medal of Honor game (Warfighter) is on sale there for 40% off. didn't that just come out like a week or two ago? stuff like that sucks hard for the people who were good enough to pre order @ full price.

Finally bought a game off of Steam for the first time today.

For the sake of nostalgia, I bought the Complete Edition of Postal 2. The old controversial FPS classic.

It's an odd thing, pricing of older games.

Recently GOG announced they are actually going to raise the prices of the Fallouts (and other Interplay games) from 5.99 to $10. Doesn't make any sense.

And really, how often is the base price of a digital download game actually increased?

Plus you can get the fallout trilogy (F1,2, and Tactics) for $12 on amazon.

Thanks for that, it is still free. I will probably never play it but whatever.

So I finally did it.

I returned my 2 and half year old PS3 to Costco for $500 and replaced it with my computer.

My computer room and living room are right beside each other and the TV is on the other side of the wall from the computer.

I had drilled a hole in the wall last year to hardwire the PS3 because I couldn't stand wireless. I put the HDMI cable and XBOX360 Wired controller through the hole and connected it and duplicated my monitor onto the TV.

Been playing games all day on it. Just need a wireless mouse and keyboard to control it.

The only thing I ever played on the PS3 was NHL and since that franchise has slowly **** the bed I figured I might as well get the money back from Costco.

I seriously love their return policy. I bought the PS3 in April of 2010 and returned it today for a full $500 refund.

Other than sports games I've never really liked playing on a big screen. Dunno why, feels wrong somehow. If I actually had a console I'd probably hook it up to my computer monitor.

Racing games are a blast. Indie games are good. Side scrollers like mark of the ninja.

I'm in the same boat as Sniper, playing games on a big screen is just weird. I think the main reason is perspective. When you're sitting in front of a 22" computer monitor, you're probably sitting 3 feet away. Meanwhile, when you're using your 44" TV, you're probably sitting 8 feet away, making how much of the screen that takes up your field of vision much smaller and you can't see as much detail. Then it gets even worse when you only have a 32" TV sitting at 8.5 feet away like in my situation.

The only time I use my TV for gaming is sim racing games and that's only because it's too much of a pain to move my wheel towards my PC desk since there's just not much space and it gets really cluttered. I put it in front of my TV but sit about 5-6' away.

Yeah, I also sit like 3 feet away from the TV as well.

Even as an adult I sit (on the floor) in front of the TV to play video games.

It just feels the most comfortable.

Darksiders 2 is a good game. I recommend it. It took me about 24 hours to beat the game and I didn't really do all that many of the side quests.

I still need to play the first one, but I'd consider buying that one as well. Are there still technical problems/hiccups in the game (heard from reviews it had some technical issues)?

I never had any technical issues. They could have been patched out by now. I should also go back and play the first one when it's on sale at some point.

Speaking of sales, I'm assuming that Steam will have some sort of sale next week, right? Don't they usually have a Thanksgiving week sale?

EDIT: BTW, am I the only one who just can't understand how any COD release gets hundreds of posts per thread yet something like CS:GO got like 1 or 2 pages in this thread. It's crazy.

I think you do understand though

Personally I've never been a CS guy. Shooters with middling realism tend to annoy me for various reasons. But I concede that I'm picky because I also don't really like the realism at the expense of gameplay of ARMA.

Looks like Steam wants to fight against Amazon. Midweek Madness on Darkness 2 - $17 as well. I think I'll still wait. It'll probably be cheaper during the Christmas sale a month and a half away and I know I won't have time to play it by then anyway.

They usually do something for Thanksgiving although it's pretty small. Similar to this year's Halloween sale. I remember years ago they did specials like paying ~1.5 times the value of a game and getting like 7 copies of it to gift to friends. I thought that was really cool and would totally do it now that I have more expendable cash. Love sharing my favorite games with friends.

Heh, I have the exact same feeling for FPS games. Give me rocket jumps or give me bullet drop! I liked the older Battlefield games for realism but they even seem to be getting arcade-y lately. Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2 were awesome though.
