So I'm a new PC gamer, what have I missed specifically on PC that I couldn't get on a console?
I can't really play any multiplayer type of games right now because of the internet I have so for now I'm stuck with single player games...
Any genre is welcome.
Since I'm sure you don't want to go through and reread any page in any of the Steam topics, I will post my usual suggestions.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, Deus Ex (Original and/or Human Revolution, original is definitely better), Half-Life, and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. That's really it as far as PC only games that I can think of at the moment. The current Humble Bundle I think all the games are really good to great.
How good is Monkey Island? I've always heard good things but I was never a big fan of adventure games. If I don't really like the genre, is the game still good enough for me to enjoy?
Man I just can't get excited this year. Between past Steam sales and the various Indy Bundles I basically have all the games I could possibly want, or with the few exceptions like Skyrim have enough of a backlog that I can put it off again till the next Summer/Christmas sale.
i bought it around two years ago during a Steam sale and never really tried it out, but it sounded kinda cool. sorta like The Sims, but you control ghosts and try to scare away the tenants, etc.

I've only played one of them but they are fun games, lots of humor mixed in with some good game play, I'd recommend it, and tbh, writing this has made me look into getting the rest of the series.
I bit and bought Secret of Monkey Island and I Am Alive. I've had my eye on I Am Alive for a while. Might be fitting to play right after Spec Ops: The Line. I can't imagine it being that complex of a game and it'll have a similar feeling to it I bet.
I am curious how well Farming Simulator is doing that their best deal is only 50% off.

I Am Alive is basically a platformer. It has a unique stamina system and you have to be very smart and very cautious. For the price, you can't go wrong. I enjoyed it. There's a lot of games I paid $60 for that are way worse.
Scribblenauts for 75% off sounds interesting. I never played the games before but I know they were pretty popular.
Forgot to mention, I bought the Above the Average Humble Bundle and only activated Snapshot (I already had all the other games.) If you want any of the other games, PM me and I'll PM you the code.
