here's the resolution fix/mod, btw, if you're interested in playing an actual HD version of the game ...

and here's the whole thread on neogaf devoted to the mod, with frequent contributions from Durante (maker of the mod)...

anyway ...what an awesome game ...and it looks awesome with that resolution mod, too.

edit: here's a post from Durante stating the settings that he uses on a Geforce GTX660 (i think that's the video card he's using) ...to give you a bit of an idea/baseline of what to use.

I was really hoping Chivalry was going to be 75% off. I can wait until that game is cheaper. I'm hoping the Trine 2 DLC goes 75% off. Saints Row the 3rd isn't a bad deal, but I got that game and like 5 others in the THQ bundle for 6 bucks lol.

So what have you guys bought so far?

The only game I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on is The Witcher for $2.50. Any other steals I should look into?

Natural Selection 2 as a gift to Theosis
Bad Rats to Frankie cause i hate his face
Ace of Spades for myself yesterday which is kinda meh

If Steam continues to be meh i'll just spend my wallet on pre-orders like Bioshock and may pick up FC3

So far I've got all the DLC for Civ 5, Hotline Miami, Bioshock 1/2 + Spec Ops and Total War Napolean.

Doubt I'll buy anything else.. The only one I bought with steam was Civ 5 .

I ended up buying Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition and The Witcher Enhanced Edition. I don't really see anything else that interests me though.

Anyone know of any good indie games that are on sale cheap?

Ended up with:
-Hitman Absolution
-Mirrors Edge
-Rome: Total War
-Sleeping Dogs (on the greenmangaming offer)
-Batman Arkham City
-Y's Origin (which I missed last sale @ 75%)
-the Walking Dead

Think I'm done unless Far Cry 3 gets a drop somewhere...

I haven't gotten a single thing from Steam (other than a gift for NS2 from BeBen)...

Only thing I've bought so far was the $15 for Dark Souls: PTD on Amazon.

Terrible sale on Steam so far....

In last three or four days:

- Saints Row 3
- The Bethesda New Years pack (still can't believe I got this for 28 bucks)
- Borderlands 2
- Aliens vs. Predator
- The THQ package on Amazon
- Mirror's Edge
- The latest Humble Bundle

This will be plllllenty to keep me going for months. I'll probably get "The Walking Dead" when it hits Amazon for a purported 10ish bucks.

I haven't bought a single game yet this sale. I might buy DA Origins though. It's probably good that I don't buy that much though because over the past 2 summer and winter sales i've spent way over $100 each time. Have way too many unplayed games

DA:O definitely will give you a good bang for your buck. Took me over 50 hours to beat.

I just got through with an RPG (Dark Souls) and I feel like playing another long game. I probably have like 150 hours on Dark Souls so far lol

Waiting for Far Cry 3. Ill take 33% off and be happy, probably buy the other 2 as well if the package is reasonable.

Only picked up a few small games that my nieces and nephews can play over the holidays when they are here.

Really though, for everyone complaining, once you are getting 200/300/400+ games in your library it gets pretty hard to find anything that you "really want" unless it is such a low price that you cannot resist. I am a bit surprised that Valve does not have some kind of "price match guarantee" for games that are activated through their servers though. I guess they dont care as long as it creates more traffic for the site (they still have the largest selection of games by far).

Personally, for a few dollars here or there I will still buy from Steam unless there is no other option (like ME3 or such).

DA:O is great. It is the only game I have played through more than once since the Baldurs Gate games. It took me much longer than 50hrs, I tend to take my time and do all the quests and listen to all conversations. Also, the expansion, Awakenings is a proper expansion that adds another 20+ hours, unlike most crappy DLC that adds 1 or 2 hours and/or a couple weapons/armour.

I think the best Bioware game since BG2 - though ME series was pretty good as well but much shorter. DA:O + expansion is nearly as long as the entire ME trilogy if you do most everything (and much better customization of characters as well).

what are we ...four days into the sales?

so far i bought :

sleeping dogs (greenmangaming deal ...was around $11.90 with $6 credit)
viking: battle for asgard (bought it today off gamersgate for $4.49)
the bethesda new year's collection (grabbed it for $28 and change off gamersgate)

also bought the current Humble Bundle for around $6.30.

some nice deals so far ...even though none of them were off Steam ...but at least they all register on there.

This is a huge problem on the matter. I have so many damn games (something like 400+), I don't see sales that have games I want because at this point, I have such a huge backlog I can wait for it to go cheaper and also there just aren't many games I want that I don't already have. Ironically, after saying that, here are the games I've bought so far:

Natural Selection 2
Secrets of Monkey Island
I Am Alive (actually already almost done with this one, on the last level)
Ignite
Unmechanical
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Gateways
