Another righty D. Not well known, since he is a rookie fa signing out of New Jersey and is playing on a bad team. May be available in a later round. I don't know much about him, but his numbers stand out on that team, especially for a rookie. For your consideration.

Should Tampa draft a defenseman or an playmaking winger in the first round this summer ( I think those are our "biggest" holes right now especially because we need a new Martin St. louis in the near future)
What about getting Drouin, if he's available at our position?

BPA, but we will never find another MSL. Good thing he'll play until he's 70.
Not many, that's for sure. Isles, Sens, Wings, Oilers and Wild can make a case though. Might be few more.
Oilers, not so much, considering their best 5 players would all be in the NHL...so is not really a strong farm system in the sense that if the NHL was playing as usual, none of Hall, RNH, Eberle, Yakupov or Schultz would be in Oklahoma...the Barons would naturally be atrocious.

But lets say the BPA is a goal-scoring center, we don't net such a guy for the next 4 years... The only way wod be trading Lecsvalier away well and that would be a big problem

Draft him anyway if he's the bpa. We can always make a trade in the future with what we have plenty of depth in for organizational needs.

The stickler is, we have no idea where we are going to pick if the season is cancelled. The league hasn't even announced what method they are going to use to make the draft order. If they use the same method they used after the 2004 lockout, we even have a 4% chance to get #1 overall and roughly 22% chance at a top 5 pick, which would be pretty exciting.

I'd love to get Drouin, he looks to be THE best playmaker in this strong draft. We have several good wingers coming up, but I couldn't pass on Drouin. I can see him being a perennial NHL all-star.

Seth Jones would be the perfect fit for us. Big, fast, 2-way but strong on D, right shot, works hard, good personality. Pulock would be a good fit for us also. Very good decision making, 100 mph slapshot, right shot, skating could be a bit better, but not a deal breaker for a d-man. I like Zadorov more all the time, he has everything needed to be dominant, too bad he's not a righty, but I want him in the org. anyway. Commentary on Santini sounds promising, I'd like to see him put up a few more points though. Ristolainen has the physical tools, but I'm concerned about mental discipline. I've seen several posts about him getting lost defensively, taking himself out of position to try and make a big hit, etc...Bowey is a great skater and good in most other areas, righty, concern is passing accuracy isn't the best, not sure if Cooper would be able to fix that.
Can't find a link yet, but the Russian posters are reporting Vasilevski, Kucherov, Nesterov, and Sergeev are all invited to Russia's wjc selection camp this December.
I have seen Barkov and Ristolainen play alot this season, and I think that after the wjc Barkov will be going first overall on pretty much every list. The kid has the perfect hockey sense, size, stickhandling to be the best player in the draft. If he's skating gets to above avarage nhl level, he has all the tools to be one of the best number 1 centers in the NHL.
Ristolainen (like CC321 wrote) lacks mental disicpline, he gets out of position in the d-zone, and likes to play the man instead of the puck too much for my liking. He will probably end up as a top4 defender, and sure he has the potential to be better, but i think its unlikely that he will reach it. If we have a top 10 because of lottory, i dont think he should be our pick. Than again 6'3 mobile defensemen are rare so who knows?
Its pretty easy to say that Drouin would be the best fit playstyle wise. He is the kind of player we will need in the future.
Was able to get the stream working earlier but now it won't load. Anyone else experiencing this?
same thing here. i went to AHL live and dropped the $7 and that isn't working either.
