Very disappointing loss by the Crunch last night. After the first period St. John's had alot of pressure on their forecheck and Syracuse had trouble getting out of their zone.
First time this year that i can recall that they looked out played in their own zone.

I'd say it's not fair to blame Koekkoek for being like -100 in less than 40 games. He's arguably the best player on the team playing 30+ minutes per game. Petes currently hold 29.7% PCT, 94:148, one of the worst teams ever!? Can you imagine how his stats would look like on a team of e.g. London caliber?

I'm not blaming him. It was just 'interesting'. I know their team sucks Coach, GM was fired, players reportedly want to be traded.. +/- itself doesn't tell much and to my knowledge there are no corsi, off. zone starts etc stats published at CHL so it's hard to draw conclusions.

Adam Wilcox (pictured) was named tournament MVP as Minnesota crushed top-ranked Boston College to win the Mariucci Classic championship. Wilcox, who was also named to the all-tournament team, was solid all night and spectacular when he needed to be, stopping 32 shots. BC’s lone goal came with the Gophers up 7-0 late in the third period and trying to kill off a 5-on-3 power play.
Quote:
He came into the game seventh in the nation in goals against average and drew endless praise from Fox Sports commentators, who called Wilcox a “star” and “one of the top goalies in the country.” Noted Minnesota hockey journalist Michael Russo called him “the real deal.”

Pensfan coming in peace,

I am in a SIM hockey league which bases ratings off of players real time stats. We also do a real draft and run a farm team etc.

Reason why I am here is I own both the rights to Nikita Gusev and Radko Gudas. Was curious if either one of these guys will make the jump to the NHL and if so, what kind of player are we looking at?

Seems we got a gem in Wilcox, awesome.

Radko Gudas is allready in the AHL and I would say in 2 years at max he will be playing in the NHL, he could make for a very solid 3rd pairing d-man

Gusev we will see, nothing on he coming at the moment

Gudas probably tops out as a #4 dman, as Vas said above 2 years to NHL seems about right, both him and Barberio are knocking on the door, its who makes it first as to how soon he plays in the NHL whether its next season or the season after. He is a physical two way dman, never going to blow you away with point totals but some offense hopefully carrys over to the NHL. He hits, he fights, he's a pain in the ass to play against.....can't wait (something this team has missed since Downie left)

Gusev is getting 3rd line time in the KHL, putting up decent points. And over in the KHL thread they seem pretty enthusiastic about his development. Hopefully he comes over at some point, but I guess that won't be until he is virtually guaranteed a place in the NHL, so there is no set timeline to his play in the NHL. Only way Gusev makes it is on one of the top 2 lines, hes lethal offensively, but tiny and needs to improve defensively.

Feel so bad for Ticker. Literally 1 second away from a shutout.

Oh well first team to 20 wins.

The Connolly Assist on Panik's second goal was insane. Puck was deflected literally 45' in the air, as it came down in the NZ, he batted it out of mid air onto the tape of Panik springing him.

Thanks for the input, I like the toughness Radko brings and just was hoping he seemed to be an NHL guy. glad that it seems to feel that way here

If Kucherov were Canadian would we be hearing that absurd clutch moniker thrown around?

I was all for drafting Markaov with a late round pick last draft.....but after reading that I think Vasi just became my new man crush. <3

It sounds like the russian trainers aren't happy with his decision to come over next year and let him sit as a result ( normaly you don't let your top goalie prospect sit in the KHL while he could play in the MHL/ VHL )

Damn I dreamed tonight about getting the first overall pick this summer. Then trade it awa to CBJ for the 3rd and the 12th. Draft Jones/Drouin at 3 and trade the 12 down to 15 for a second rounder and take Zadorov because he will fall due to the Russian Factor. After all draft Mirco Müller in the second round as well as a guy like William Carrier.

Wow that would be sooo unbelievable

Seth Jones struggled some at the beginning of the tournament, but he settled down and started playing really well. It's easy to see why he's getting first overall consideration.

I was thinking about the AHL lineup for next season. It is overflowing a bit. Decisions, decisions.

Richard|Paquette|Kucherov
------|Angelidis|Nielson

Barberio|Gudas
Aulie|Taormina

One of Helenius or Tokarski will be with the Lightning. Vasilevski comes over and splits with the other.

Korobov/Gudas/Barberio have a shot at making the Lightning. With Ohlund presumably gone (buyout/retirement) there is AT LEAST 1 spot available. So imo one makes it, the others are used as 1st call up options.

8 forwards signed or RFA for next season who are locks (providing none are bought out/traded for cap space). Thompson, Crombeen and maybe Wyman are re-signed. That gives you 10/11 forwards, so 2/3 spaces. Connolly, Brown, Killorn, Conacher, Johnson fight it out.

And you forgot Hutchings.
