Oh yeah, forgot about Vladdy. I don't think we'll have room for 3 new defensemen next year though. We currently have Carle, Hedman, Brewer, Salo and Lee on the books for next year (and Ohlund of course). I assume we'll sign Aulie and probably one of Taormina/Mikkelson. That leaves room for 1-2 dmen to come up unless we make a trade to free up a spot or two.
Eh, he'd get more than that at the deadline. Say a team like the Red Wings, or even Ottawa if they're still in the mix. Top 4 Dmen don't grow on trees. ****, look at what Kubina got us last year. As headscratchingly bad as Brewer has been at times, he's a damn sight better than Kubina.
Edit: Oh, just re-read that. Lol. Lee gets the 2nd and the 4th, Brewer gets future considerations.
While Im sure all agree Vas is the far future, could someone give me an update on how HELENIUS is doing on the farm?"
Do you think he'll ever challenge Lindback for the TBay job? If so how soon do you think.
Thanks
He was terrible up until they traded Tik then he got hot for a week. Cedric seems to be the #1 for the Crunch so not sure how much Riku is gonna play down the stretch. He needs to continue to play well or he may be shipped back across the pond in favor of Janus. I don't see him challenging Lindback but with how bad Lindback has looked lately you never know.
Taormina saw a doctor on Tuesday morning and got medical clearance to play again. Taormina has been sidelined since hurting his back in Tampa Bay's preseason.
Quote:
The issue remains conditioning, which Taormina said has a little ways to go. He has no timetable for a return, but said he'll be ready when his shoulder is tapped.
Who's been taking his place in the lineup, Landry? If so how's he playing?
Landry has been a healthy scratch quite a bit since he's been recalled to Syracuse.
The D pairings for the past few weeks have been
Cote Barbs
Korobov Gudas
Oberg Mikkelson
Nightingale was getting in games before Mikkelson was sent to SYR.
On the PP earlier this year Coop was going with 4 forwards and 1 D with Barbs on the first unit and Taormina on the second unit.
Lately he has gone with 3 forwards and 2 D with Barbs and Oberg on the first unit and Korobov and Gudas on the second unit.
I'm thinking that when Taormina is ready that one of Oberg or Nightingale will not dress. When we need some more of a shutdown D or toughness Nightingale will play.
Coop also rolls 7 D quite often.
As far as Landry goes I think he's played between 5-10 games and I don't recall anything really bad from him. He is on a team with a deep roster so he is the odd man out at this point.
