I don't agree Burke will be shown the door. i don't think he's nearly as close to being fired as most do here.

If you want to accelerate progress offer Getzlaf and Perry the most money with massive signing bonuses.

Imagine if we hand't tried to accelerate things.

Tavares/Seguin as 1/2 punch

Rask in net

Rielly,Hamilton,Gardiner,Finn pairing.

With that much youth we might have even landed Schultz.
I keep seeing this posted. Where are people getting this from? Snow was never going to trade Tavares.

That's exactly correct. When he was on TSN after they selected Kadri I remember Burke said if they wanted to move up Luke Schenn needed to be involved and he didn't need to select in the top 3 for his ego. Plus I remember during their "Behind The Draft 09" special on Leafs TV Burke even mentioned how Tampa wanted Schenn for the 2nd overall pick.

I truly hope it is false I just did not see why this guy would lie. He has always been a upfront kind of guy no BS.

Any case time will tell.

If this was a contending club, we'd have no problem signing guys here.

BTW, Burke has already tried to accelerate the process with some pretty dismal results. Do we really want him to try that again?
Unless we got it becuase of a draft lottery.

It was Schenn plus Kabs and the 7th for the 2nd overall . Burkes said he didn't want to do it because if Tavares wasn't there he's look like an idiot .
