After seeing the game tonight MLSE should cut MooaseJaw a nice fat 6 figure cheque to trade Rielly somewhere good. (Not that that kind of thing is legal)

Can they move him to the OHL or is it too late?

It's only cheating if you're caught

Don't trust me on this but I think a player can only switch leagues if they are put on waivers (or whatever the junior equivalent is) and no teams in that current league wants him. At that point the player is free to sign with another team in another league.

It's going to be tough for Moose Jaw, they have a long road trip ahead and then won't have Rielly in the lineup for several games because of the WJCs.

They lose with him in the line-up.. It won't be pretty when he's not in the line-up.

I couldn't even make it through the game, MooseJaw was just too terrible to keep watching.

Rielly needs to get out of there. Play somewhere winning is going on.

Those who have watched MJ all season know this game followed the same pattern virtually every game does for Rielly.

1st and 2nd period - Solid defensive play, joins the rush when the opportunity arises, creates scoring chances and returns to his post. Overall responsible play. Total ice time: ~13-15 minutes.

3rd period - MJ generally down by several goals at this point and Rielly starts to push. Constantly looking to join the rush, forces the play, occasionally gets caught. Coach double shifts him and he eventually burns out. Total ice time: ~9-10 mins

On a good team where he isn't relied upon solely to create offense and where his minutes can be managed, he would be dynamite.

Apparently the Oil Kings want to trade for Rielly. Would be good for him.

If Kypreos is your source on this than a) get a better source and b) that's not what he said anyway.

What the heck did I miss???

Look he doesn't need to go to a #1 team. If he goes to a decent team he'll make it an elite team.

Eberle 2.0 is the only decent forward on the team. Get Rielly somewhere he has 3 or 4 different forwards spread out over a coulpe of lines that he can play with.

I saw several times tonight(and a few times in the Subway series) where Rielly has himself in a great position but the puck carrier just doesn't see it quick enough. His hockey IQ is more elite than his skating and puck handling skills. He seems to have that Gretzky mantra: Go to where the puck will be.

I can't wait to see Kessel passing to Rielly for the one-timer, and vice versa.

I'd like that if it were true. Right now he's a diamond in the rough.

They were discussing the possibility of Rielly getting dealt during intermission and John Shannon started listing off the top teams that may want him and Kypreos said something like "how about the team they're playing tonight?"

and of course certain people interpret that as "the edmonton oil kings want to trade for morgan rielly"

Reinhart and Rielly could carry the OilKings all the way to the Calder Cup.

there is just no reason to trade for him if hte LEafs are going to bring him up.

Burke should have said Rielly was coming for camp but would be staying in WHL. Then he would be a hot commodity.

Otherwise there is every reason to believe Rielly could prove himself good enough to stay up with the LEafs. And history shows this franchise is dumb enough to keep 18yr old D-men in the NHL. So why would a WHL franchise give up anything worth while for him in a trade?

David Musil was traded to Edmonton, but (I believe) he's one of the two players on Edmonton's (Oilers') list.

Im sure Rielly would have been a good fit but Oil Kings would have had to pay a fortune. They had to over pay to get Musil. Im sure Oilers brass has a say in getting Musil to the Oil Kings tho.

Once is enough for a history.

The habit goes beyond D-men.

Tony Cameranesi scored a goal and an assist yesterday. Puts him at 5 goals, 12 points in 11 games. 2nd in 1st year/freshman scoring in the NCAA

Very unexpected for a smaller freshman.

I've heard he has tremendous speed. Hopefully he's not like Robbie Earl.
