has the media lost it?

So I've been following the lock out as close as any real hockey fan and since Bill Daly and S.Fehr started meeting in undisclosed locations, leading to the "big shots" doing the same, I've gotten a feeling that the media ( tsn, espn, sportsnet) have totally been shut out and are now just running on fumes while trying to maintain ratings and attention.

It seems, to me, that the NHL-NHLPA have totally shut out the reporters who still have a job to do so they're simply trying to keep us paying attention to their news stories and tweets.

anybody else on the same page?

People who are following the lockout closely want information all the time everyday. Since there are no longer media reports by the NHL(PA), of course they will just be rambling on. If they didn't, there would be a bigger outcry about them doing nothing.

the fact that they have been shut out by both sides tells me were getting close to a deal imo

If I get hockey this year I don't really care about knowing. If no media means a deal gets done faster then as John Lennon said "Let It Be".

Nit picking here but I'm a Beatles buff and "Let it Be" was definitely a Paul McCartney song (written and performed by).

This is not meant to be serious but would any journalist ever attempt to put listening devices at place of meetings? He or she would get award if not caught

you know the media stuff will go back to normal probably at the end of the month.

are you looking forward to hearing about dirty hits, suspensions, and Shanahan's ruling?

on a usual night in the last 3 years that is all you hear.

"watch what you wish for" as they say.

I don't think that's how it goes.

I would rather they be reporting that stuff as opposed to a 50/50 split and a "make whole provision" or Revenue Sharing.

i mean yeah. it would be nice to have some hockey again, but i thought i would take the opportunity to gripe about the usual tsn, sportsnet, etc. stuff.

here's my pledge:

if we have a season, and they start in on all this discussion about suspensions, and dirty hits, etc. i will start complaining to the networks. sometimes they listen. i once complained to the fan about having Paul Hendrick as a guest on their show. they haven't had him as a guest since.

Listening to the Toronto media it's clear they've been out of it for years.
