So this year if we are in the top 5, we get our pick
Wrong. We only get the pick if its in the top 3. The year after I believe its top 2 protected.

Sucks that they lost but what an exciting game to watch. If only they knew how to hold on to a lead late in the game. Is there some sort of curse on Toronto teams that none of them know how to keep a lead to win the game?

Sorry, didn't look up the exact details.... cool your jets

Rockets receive the Raptors' 2013 first-round pick (Top 3 protected and 15-30 in 2013, top 2 protected and 15-30 in 2014 and '15, Top 1 protected and 15-30 in 2016 and '17, and unprotected in 2018.

considering the team was short-handed tonight, it's not surprising that they ended up fading after reaching 3OTs. Given that, it was a valiant effort, especially from DeMar. Hopefully this is a sign that the light has turned on for him and he's going to be this kind of player going forward. Because tonight's DeRozan was for the most part outstanding.

What do you think we can get for Bargnani?

I wouldn't trust BC making the decision, but he has to go. Time to get some pieces.

How do you guys feel about Quincy Acy? How do you see him developing and being a part of our future. I hear he's raw, but looks like a very good team guy.

Similar to Amir. Bench role, energy guy that grabs rebs and finishes put-ins, garbage baskets, etc.

I think we need to let him play for half a season, give him the ball every other trip down the floor, pad his stats and ship him and Calderon out for Cousins.

Sacramento wouldn't take that deal. Despite the personality and maturity issues, Cousins has tons of talent and can dominate at all aspects of the game when he's on. Alot of people have him listed within the top-5 at the center position, and he still has potential to improve his game. At his peak, he could be second behind only Howard at his position. Sacramento will trade a lot of other players before they move Cousins, and even if they do move him, they'll be looking for alot more in return than Bargs and Calderon.

I think there comes a point when you move on from Bargs and even if the return is not great you do it with the notion of addition by subtraction and bring in someone who better suited to play the PF position.

Too many times they get out rebounded on the glass cause the PF is shooting 3's or long jumpers and there is no one to get that rebound. How many 2nd chances do the Raptors get with Bargs scared to mix it up in the paint and play with the big boys.

On the D side of things he is afraid again to mix it up and very slow on defending.

Too bad Reggie Evans never had an offensive game cause he is the banger on the glass this team needs at both end of the court.

Take what you get cause you have Lowry who score. Derozan if he can continue to score the way he is will be usefull and Val once they actually give him minutes will be able to score. Your PF could be used a guy like Rodman who is a rebounding monster and creates second chance opportunities for the shooters and cleans up the D glass

I'd say Acy is more of a Reggie Evans type. No offensive game, but can rebound and defend a little. Amir is actually a very good role player.

Well I guess I meant best case scenario, but Evans does seem like a more similar mould of what Acy will become.

Bargnani looks downright goofy trying to draw fouls on his jumper.

Jays are getting all the attention tonight, but Calderon is having his best game of the season tonight. 4-5 from the field, 9 assists, 6 rebounds in 20 minutes of work so far. Definitely his best performance.

Yeah the Raps game is playing right behind me, I've been too focused on the Jays though lol.

I'm shocked that DeMar is getting this much time after last night, and that Ross has only gotten 7 minutes.

Calderon is raising his trade value too. Maybe BC will follow in AA's footsteps and pull off a big trade?

Derozan is playing the best basketball of his career recently, and with all the injuries to the team (and with Bargnani shooting 3-12) it's not surprising that Dwayne Casey is really riding Demar.

Ross just checked in though.

Calderon could easily get a triple-double this game. This would be his first triple double, no?

To be honest, I don't think Calderon will be traded. I don't think there's a great market for him out there, and he unquestionably has value to the Raps as a reserve PG. Lucas can't handle the PG spot for anything more than garbage minutes, so losing Calderon would leave our bench woefully inadequate. The only way I see him being traded is if somebody wants to give us a point guard back for him...which I don't really see happening.

well I don't see us resigning Calderon, so that has to factor in when looking to trade him or not
