Calderon hunts for assists though. he's always dumping the ball off to someone with 2 seconds left. That's one thing I hate about his game.

If it's not that, he's setting up alley-oops so he knows he'll get rewarded with an assist.

Pretty pumped for the game today, excited to see how Val does with KG in his ear (for the 20 minutes he's on the floor)

For the first handful of games I didn't mind the minute restriction. Keep his legs fresh, so fatigue doesn't force him to get into any bad habits. I think he's earned a bump in playing time by now though.

Not with the refs giving him 2 offensive fouls in the first 3 minutes. Refs are horrible once again, I've quit watching already. The Celtics lost the other night due to the refs so there definitely going to make it up in this one, 3 minutes in I proved my hunch was right.

Didn't realize the game was in the afternoon today. Who's looked good so far?

terrible 3-ball shots by calderon and derozan

I only caught the end of the 2nd, but both teams seem pretty unorganized out there

Just tuned in (also didn't know it was an afternoon game)...

Is it just me or is the pace of this game seem really slow? Maybe it's because it's an afternoon game, but it seems like these guys just woke up from what I've seen so far.

Davis is putting together a fine game off the bench for Raps. He's been great on the boards here in the 3rd.

It blows my mind how Bargnani gets 2-3 rebounds a game. Embarrassing.

So why does Bargnani continue to get a free pass from the media? Seriously, he's the laziest 7 footer I've ever seen. Averaging 4! rebounds a game, has no hustle, no motor, and chucks up 15-20 shots a game.

Play ED some more. At least he plays like an actual powerforward. And man, I like Val but he's been on three posters all ready. At least he goes for the block though.

Casey needs to strip all these minutes from Bargnani and give them to Ed. He's got the potential, he's got the hustle, he can succeed, while Bargnani is just a waste. Only thing he's helping in is the chances of getting Shabazz.

Unfortunately, he's in a tight situation with Bargs being the closest thing he has to a go to scorer. At his height, his rebounding is completely based on him being unwilling to or not even caring about it.

There's nothing to suggest he's a go to scorer when he's shooting 35%

Derozan is our go-to scorer. When Lowry comes back, he'll also be higher on the offensive depth chart. Bargnani is very quickly playing himself out of relevance.

We get much better rebounding and post-defense from Amir and Ed Davis. Neither will ever be a first-option on offense, but at least you know exactly what you're getting when they're on the floor. Bargnani basically a 7-foot shooting guard that's horrible inefficient with his chances.

Unfortunately we are stuck with Bargs till the bitter end.

You see, if the Raptors keep up this kind of play, BC is done for with the organization (and rightfully so). Bargs is his pick, and his extension so he needs him to succeed if he wants to keep his job.

I don't care what anyone says, you can't win in the NBA anymore without all-stars (likely two of them). Depth doesn't matter in this league as much as others. The best teams in this league are built on studs (Miami, Knicks, Nets, Thunder, Lakers, Clippers, etc)

Derozan is shaping up to be a good scorer, but Bargs as of now is still the best. I couldn't care less for him, he's had time to round out his defense and rebounding, and still no results.

Well the bitter end like you said could be in the foreseeable future. I agree that the best teams rely on all-stars, but depth still is a necessity in this league, albeit less than other sports. The Pacers, Nuggets and Grizzlies don't have that superstar that the other teams you mentioned do, but they're fully capable of winning games against them.

A prime example is the Grizz who managed to beat the Heat, Thunder and Knicks this week. Yes it is just the regular season, but depth helps keep the team refreshed until the very end unless your players are freakishly athletic (Lebron).
