It was Marisnick OR Gose, not both. And subsequent tweets by Morosi and others have indicated that it will indeed be Marisnick. So AFAIK, the only outstanding bit of info is this potential catcher addition.

Those 7 guys make up a downright nasty lineup

He'd come reasonably cheap too.

ok this might be it

http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/m...nifacio-111312

The Blue Jays are set to acquire starters Josh Johnson and Mark Buehrle, shortstop Jose Reyes, infielder/outfielder Emilio Bonifacio and catcher John Buck from the Marlins, sources told FOXSports.com.

The Marlins will receive a package that includes shortstops Yunel Escobar and Adeiny Hechavarria, major-league starter Henderson Alvarez, minor-league starter Justin Nicolino and center fielder Jacob Marisnick.

A catcher also will go to Miami in the trade — J.P. Arencibia, Jeff Mathis or Bobby Wilson.

sorry for my ignorance.. and not trying to rain on anyone's parade

so how much better is Reyes over Escobar? i really liked Escobar actually, but everyone has been raving reyes.

Would you say Buehrle is a #1 starter, how does he compare to Romero (well the year before, not last year). Josh Johnson vs Marcum (who would you like?)..

What kinda starter is Nicholino projected to be?.. I am still trying to digest it all!

No kidding. Trades kids and an immature athlete for three quality players plus a backup and a superutility.

Melky's only had 1 good full season (with KC) and then this season where he got caught on roids. That's not exactly the kind of guy I'd want to invest in, because in New York and that 1 year in Atlanta, he was basically a platoon OF at best.

This is what I got.
I haven't seen TDA mentioned anywhere. I saw one of JP, Mathis, or Wilson.

Buehrle is a #3 guy. He'll give you 200 solid innings, workhorse. Good option behind Johnson, Morrow and Romero.

Reyes is a bonafide leadoff hitter, though has some injury concerns...if healthy, he's a HUGE upgrade over Escobar

Buerhle is the innings eater and Johnson has #1 stuff but he too has had injury concerns

Was the thorn in his side also in the deal? I didn't see it.

Anyone remember the "It's bigger than that" comments when the Phaneuf trade was slowly trickling in:

when asked if Stajan and Hagman are main pieces in Phaneuf trade, source says "its bigger than that."
That's what I was thinking when there was a new name being added every minute to this trade

Buehrle is a middle of the rotation starter, a workhorse in fact. Josh Johnson is the stud ace that AA acquired and he's miles better than Marcum.

Reyes has had durability issues in the past, but he's the prototypical leadoff hitter that the Jays have been sorely lacking. His elite speed, baserunning and batting is so ideal for the Jays that he's a more suitable choice than Escobar.

Hopefully Gose isn't included, and if they can shore up 1B and LF this team should be beastly next year.

Feels good man.

Reyes is one of the best hitting SS in the game who can also steal 50 bases and is a switch hitter.

Guess I've inadvertently picked up a Jay in my pool, since Reyes is one of my five keepers for 2013 (Price, Hamels, Pedroia, Reyes and Longoria).

You've got to feel bad for them. Yes they've had 2 WS in the last 15 years, but they've also had to deal with a ton of craptastic seasons and the team being burned down to nothing every few years. At least during the "cheapest" of the Jays seasons, they kept going with the same core and just let it decay over time.

Imagine if in the 2013 off-season the Jays sold off all these Marlins deal pieces, plus Lawrie, Bautista, Encarnacion, Morrow, and Rasmus. Now imagine if they made that same trade every 3-5 years.

That's what it's like to be a Marlins fan.

Jeffrey Loria is a blight upon baseball (though in this case it's good for us)
