Don't forget, AA spent most of last year rebuilding the bullpen aswell. If things stay as they are, this is one of the deepest bluejay teams I've seen.

Bonifacio is a more than acceptable starting 2B

If we can improve one of 1B/LF this team imo is the best in the division.

Getzlaf + Perry + Souray + Winnick + prospect for Grabovski + kadri + blacker + frattin

Wow. 120M payroll. Bet this will get tons of critcism off their backs. Totally love this deal for the Jays. Gives them an option to deal JPA a lot more easily now too.
I really didn't think rogers would spend that kind of money. Never been so happy to be wrong.

Need LF. Need a long relief/spot starter as well since they moved Alvarez. Also need to shore up DH (someone affordable like Jonny Gomes to platoon with Lind makes even more sense now, with all the salary the Jays just took on). And if Santa is extra nice, an upgrade at 2B would be nice too.

At this point, I think they could afford to move one of the veteran catchers for a prospect, as well, if they aren't involved in a deal for LF.

I'll be the first to admit, I am hardly a baseball guy.

Where would the Jays payroll then rank in terms of total salary in comparison to the Red Sox, Yankee's and other big spending teams around the league?

That is a stupidly well rounded team. It's not missing much in terms of needs. Josh Johnson gives us an ace. Reyes a legit lead off hitter.
I highly doubt the Jays are done either.

About $30-40M less than New York, will probably be more than Boston this year

Really couldn't.

Basically it would be like adding a top 10 scorer, a number 1 dman, a veteran number 3-4 dman, and a top 9 forward.

And only giving up a top six forward, a number 6 dman, a potential future top 6 forward, a potential top 4 dman, a potential top 9 defensive forward and some late round picks.

I don't know but this is the closest i could think of. Massive trade.

Bonfacio hit .296 just one season ago.

I have no issues with giving him a shot at being the 2B.

Just wanted to say again. I am happy to eat crow about Rogers and AA it's about time they make a move like this and become a contender

Perfect storm AA saying they can add payroll and took advantage of another Marlins fire sale. Way easier to pick up all pieces at one store and take advantage of a cheap owner who is an idiot like Loria who should be banned from MLB
