Well, NBA got 66 games in from Christmas to April 26th.

If they get a deal done friday lets say, it is expected puck drop would be December 20th. The NHL already said season can be expected closer to the end of April.

So I expect it will be around a 60 game schedule

LeBrun said that it'll be either 56 or 58. 60 games or over would be pushing it. The idea is to play until the end of April and then play the playoffs until late June, June 30th would be the cut off. They don't want games going into July. Dreger also said that the worst case scenario would see them start mid January.

If they are making this much progress they are prob gonna go as hard as they can each and every day to try and get it done by the deadline.

How many now or never scenarios have we been through? I am not holding my breath. Maybe with the holidays closing in they are getting desperate, but I thought desperation should have come sometime in August.

simple math
4 games a week = 17 game a month
jan feb mar = 51 games
add 4 games to close out dec
add 4 games 1 week into april

59 call it 60 games

If they're playing 60 games, they're playing 61. No odd numbers so they're playing 62. 61 or more games need to be played for full amount received from sponsors.

I expect a bunch of injuries in the first week of the season. With the shortened schedule and the greater possibility of injuries to key players this could be an interesting and possibly wide open season.

Something happen since I watched about 30 minutes ago and they were saying the positive vibes of last night are gone?

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

If a deal is reached shortly after players meeting with owners there are two people who are grossly overpaid and should be removed from their posts.

Dont take it as a bad thing. Last night from what i gather was about exchanging ideas and feeling out how far each side was willing to go. Emotions were high because things were progressing.

Today is the first day of genuine negotiation throughout the whole process. No one is ever happy about negotiations.

I still fully expect we'll have an agreement in the not so distant future.

I just hope that a person does not say something stupid that pisses off the other side and we are back at square one!

I agree with you that it's looking like a deal could get done sooner rather than later.....fingers are crossed!

I feel like you need some candy, or a good friend. Something to bring some joy into your life. Always seems negative with you. I for one am very happy they are back and talking/making progress, just pissed they had to waste so much time doing it.

- I disagree with that 100%. I believe all negotations so far have been genuine, problem is that whenever they talk one or both sides get their back up throw a hissy fit and then walk away for days at a time, but to say both sides havent been genuine IMO is really pushing it.]
