Adirondack has the worst goal-differential in the Eastern Conference, and the third worst goal-differential in the entire AHL, so this is a game Rochester should win on its home ice notwithstanding the injuries/illness.

Also, a lot of opportunities for different players right now. With Hodgson out, Sundher will get an extended look at center. If Varone can't go tonight, Adam will get some ice at center. It'll be interesting to see if Rolston dresses seven defensemen tonight if Varone is scratched. Earlier this week he said that they wanted to get a look at JGL, and this may be the opportunity. Of course, he could also insert Legault or Parker instead, and just play JGL instead of Crawford or Biega.

David Leggio is 3-0-0 all-time versus ADK with 4 goals against.

I've been wondering recently why Parker hasn't been sent down yet. Right now it's probably good that he is with the team so they can roll 4 full lines in practice, but he was like the 15th Forward the past few weeks...

Sent down where? We don't have an ECHL affiliate, and maybe no one else wants to take him on loan.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't think that Parker made the team over Lagace, Boychuk and Szydowski. I just think they couldn't find a place for him.

I'm 99% certain that's what happened. Parker was awful last year.

I don't know what you're talking about, he was a perfect 4 for 4 in shootouts. You could say that the Amerks wouldn't have even made the playoffs without him hahaha.

I'm pretty sure that at least some ECHL or CHL-team would have some interest in him.

MacKenzie in, Crawford sits; Varone (illness) also sits, Legault returns; no Couturier for ADK.

Phantoms seem to have a bit more jump in the early going.

Amerks shorthanded...Adam gets the original penalty, then Foligno pounds the holy hell out of Rinaldo.

Sidebar, but in case you missed it...

Ex-Amerk Zack Kassian, now playing with the Chicago Wolves, got a 1 game suspension thanks to what he did on Tuesday against Charlotte. He's missing the Wolves' game against Milwaukee tonight.

FINALLY...someone scores.

It's on the Amerk side of the ledger.

Brennan from Rankin and Flynn on the PP while Rinaldo was off for hooking.

Legault drops a nice hit on one of the Phantoms; they take exception, and Tarnasky responds, dropping his fight partner.

Goal Phantoms.

A true knuckler of a shot, it appeared to hit something on the way to the net and gets past Leggio.

2-1 Adirondack.
