Could be it for Selanne

More reason to hate the lockout, as they're taking a 2 week break from talking I think this means Selanne's career is over, one of my favorite players of all time.

It's really tough for older players to lose an entire year. Ed Belfour was a top 3 goalie AT 39 and lost a year and never looked the same.

Ironically, the last lockout benifitted Teemu more than any NHl player by far.

I really hope he comes back to Jokerit if the whole season is cancelled. It would be a real shame if he had to end his career like this

A lockout saves Selanne's career, and a different one ends it.

Interesting.

Sucks to see players forced out of the league because there is no league to play in.

I always like seeing players go out on their own terms since it so rarely happens. This is the polar opposite. Dislike.

More reason why this lockout is bad. Shame that Selanne's career might be over because of this needless lockout.

thought about it as well and it's really sad. hopefully he can get back even stronger as he did 2005 if he decides to continue playing.

That would be nice, but it's very unlikely. The reason he came back stronger in 2005 was because he was injured heading into the lockout. He may have been playing on a bum knee as far back as during his time in San Jose.

That really sucks. I've watched Selanne play hockey for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a small town Manitoba, and Teemu was larger then life and it didn't hurt that he had the right kind of attitude.

It's a shame that he may retire, I totally thought he could play forever.

But as far as hockey players go...he has nothing left to prove. He's got the cup and a few records and will definitely be a lock for the Hall of Fame.

It's awesome to read that at least one player is thinking about the little guy.
