Seeing as I'm a fan of Forsberg, I'd definitely become a fan of Burakovsky

Not a huge article scouting wise, but it's interesting. On Nichuskin. He's quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Interactif's pimping of him has me jumping on board.

Don't want to draft pulock, rather Barkov or Monahan or obviously Mackinnon

Well then I guess as the resident Interactif-contrarian, Nichuskin is now my least favourite player in the draft

I last studied statistics 40-45 years ago but I make it a bit less than 34% with the following assumptions:

last 3 years
5 teams with 3 balls (including Leafs)
48 balls in total
the first 5 picks go to the team with 3 balls (best case scenario).

If there are 51 balls with 5 teams with 3 balls, their chances go down to a bit less than 31%.

Awhile back in the last thread, I worked out how many balls there were and it worked out to be 50 exactly.

That release on Shinkaruk's goal was Kessel-esque. Beauty.

Further, I think Broissoit played himself silly tonight. Great show.

I found myself the most impressed with Shinkaruk tonight. I wasn't aware that he was a physical player.. I don't think all of the Phil Kessel comparisons do him justice. I would say he is definitely a more rounded player. After that performance, I'm starting to think he would be my favourite past 5th overall.

On the other hand I was underwhelmed by Pulock, seemed to not have great mobility, and his only real strong point was his shot from what I saw.

Don't know enough about him. 14 points in 21 games in the SEL as a 17-year-old is impressive, though. Gonna have to do a little digging!

They are similar in some ways (if you mean Filip Forsberg). He is more of a speedy player and not really a pure goalscorer though. Burakowsky had a slow start to the season, he is very good and slippery with the puck but plays a very immature game still. Often he loses the puck in the wrong places and he tries to do too much on his own. I have seen him in Malmö and in the recent U20 4 nations tournament where I thought he was one of the best players every game, perhaps he played himself into the WJC-team.

I suppose that this is directed to me. What I mean by physical is not body checking alone. He crashed the net every shift and played well in the corners, that is being physical. Sorry you misunderstood my definition.

I don't think the comparisons go beyond looks.

I'd love to get Barkov in our system. Kid looks special.

Realistically, Monahan would be my pick

Nichushkin, Pulock, and Shinkarov, 3 guys I had my eye on this season all asserted themselves well last night. All 3 will be impact players in the NHL, couldn't go wrong picking any of them.

Impressed by nuchushkin and pulock but not hunter. Lacks speed and size. Type of player winning teams dont have.
