Edmonton is the same team that threw crazy money at Souray to get him to sign. It wouldn't surprise me if they did it again if they thought Streit was the answer they were looking for. They'd probably let Whitney walk (limp? hobble?) and use some of that money to overpay Streit.

Injury Prone? Please explain. He Played 82 games last season. Had a freak shoulder injury that cost him the previos season. 81 games before that. 74 games the season before that.
For Edmonton to grab him away from the Islanders expect tohave to pay him over 4.5M a year as I expect Snow to offer him a 4.5M extension after the CBA is signed.
If Streit does become UFA, why would he leave a young team with to join another team that similar to the Islanders?? makes no sense at all. He's 34 yrs old I doubt he would like to spend the last couple of years in his career watching young players develop...
I could see him in Anaheim, Detroit or take a paycut and play for contenders like Pitt, SJ and..............................Vancouver

I'd love to have Scuderi back. And i'd like to see Colby Armstrong back to replace Craig Adams. But knowing Blysma and his love for Adams this will not happen.

Thankfully Bylsma isn't the GM...pretty hard to imagine Adams is re-signed. Armstrong isn't going to be doing any homecoming either, unless it's for the league minimum. He just can't stay healthy and has lost too much from his game. We already have trouble fitting enough guys into the line-up without replacing Adams as it is; I think Adams' effective replacement is already in Pittsburgh.
I'm sure the Penguins will go for a top six winger. As things stand we sit in a fairly good position considering we don't really have anyone of major concern hitting UFA status while having a good amount of cap space (as of now).

Getzlaf is like the Leafs only target...he's a perfect fit here(along with just about anywhere). I wouldn't be shocked if Perry wanted to come home but I think getting both is a pipe dream to say the least.

I could see the Oilers targeting Zajac or Edler. I would love to have either of them. They both full massive holes on our roster. I don't think we could afford both, though.
Clowe is another guy I could see the Oilers going after.
I think they'll let Whitney walk and I also wouldn't be surprised if Gagner was traded by then.

Out: Gagner, Whitney and Khabibulin which frees up around 10 mil (Horcoff and Smyth are off the books after another year.)

I expect the Leafs to go hard after Getzlaf, Perry and Clowe, realistically i dont expect Getzlaf or Perry but i could see Clowe signing and I can also see Burke going for the consolation prize in Weiss or less likely Roy. Lupul without a doubt in my mind will be re-signed
