The thought of Calgary getting Barkov scares me. Hopefully they pick up

TML wouldnt take Fucale, they got better goalie prospects in the system

Seems a little high for Pulock. Philadelphia's need is on D, but I think they would happily take another forward rather than pigeonhole themselves into a certain position.

The Flyers select best player available. Ryan Pulock is not the best player available. If Lindholm or Drouin is there, they take them, no questions asked. Pulock isn't even the best defenseman available at that point, I'd take Ristolainen over him for sure, and maybe Nurse also.

Assuming the same order who do you think they would take?

Flyers would draft BPA or trade down.

Pulock at #4, what are you smoking, besides, Zadorov, Ristolainen, and Nurse are all ranked higher than him.

No idea why Washington wouldn't take Barkov here, or trade w/Calgary for the 3rd pick to take Barkov. I think Barkov is far better for the Caps as they want to win sooner than later and he'd be able to slide right in behind Backstrom, if they wanted. Jones would take time to develop and would have to compete with Green/Carlson/Alzner/Orlov in the Caps' D corps.

I don't believe teams take the best player available per se, I think they take the player who gives them the best chance to win. At 4th overall, Pulock is that player for Philadelphia.

Also, to counter the BPA argument, most people say that you can always trade talent for talent, but rarely do teams trade homegrown talent that are top players on their team. Yandle, Zajac, Weiss, Vanek, Pominville, there are more. All of these players are close to untouchable.

The Flyers needed a d-man last year as well and instead drafted Laughton.

Holmgren loves to draft forwards, especially centers, in the first round. No way they pass on Drouin or Lindholm for Pulock.

I would hate to be any team drafting third overall this year, such a drop from McKinnon and Jones downward.

Can't see Drouin slipping to #5. I think he's a definite to go top 3.

LOL.

Which goalie does Toronto have that is better than Fucale?

Maybe if you combined the strengths of all their netminders.

If you really are a Leafs fan than it must be that Leaf fans have not seen a real goaltender in so long that they forget what it looks like.

I have 4 opinions:

- Drouin slipping to 5 is highly unlikely
- You have Mantha a bit too high
- Missing Zadorov, he will likely go around the same time as Nurse
- Pulock will not go 4th, no matter of the teams organizational needs

Leafs could trade down and get Fucale in the late teens or early twenties, but they definitely do not have any goalie as good as Fucale in the system.

Fucale is interesting but I don't think he'd be the best player in the spot the Leafs are in. He has never really impressed me that much. I can see the potential though.

I have feeling they would be all over a player like Max Domi or probably Curtis Lazar.

I'm not a big follower of draft rankings though.
