NCAA announces 2014, 2015 tournament sites

Quote:
INDIANAPOLIS Ė Twenty-five preliminary round sites for the 2014 and 2015 Division I Menís Basketball Championships, as well as the 2014 Division II and Division III Menís Basketball Championships, have been selected to serve as hosts for the NCAA menís basketball tournaments. The 25 cities hosting portions of the 76th and 77th Division I Menís Basketball Championship have combined to host nearly 1,000 tournament games in the eventís history, including Madison Square Garden in New York.

A host to 71 tournament games between 1943 and 1961, Madison Square Garden will be the East Regional site for the 2014 championship, marking the first time the arena will host the event in 53 years.

Personally, I'm excited that Buffalo is going to host some games in 2014.

Phoenix just had the West Regional 8 months ago and Tucson had 2nd and 3rd round games in 2011. They're not going back there that quickly, especially when over 50 cities were competing for games.

Hopefully back to back 1 seeds put the Hoosiers in Indy this year and next. Then Cleveland in '14 ain't bad.

The host aspect always intrigues me. I wonder if Pitt will ever actually 'host' such a thing...I believe 2015 will be the fourth time Pittsburgh will be hosting such a thing, but they've all been attached to Duquesne. Throw in Robert Morris 'hosting' the Frozen Four this year and Pitt is the only one that has never hosted an NCAA Tournament event in the 'big four' sports (though no baseball collegiate tournament will ever be held in Pittsburgh for obvious reasons).

Well, if Pitt is the host, they can't play there. So it's in their advantage not to host.
