Thanks all. I often lack the creativity to adjust visual perspective (even in simple cases like this). I'm one of those people that watches those home flipping or home redecorating shows and it seems like black magic or wizardry to me.

Sick on my birthday. Woo hoo...

And HF people in real life is... interesting. Although I really only "know" one. Or maybe he's just a weird dude.

I'm 99% sure he's just a weird dude. We're talking about the same person, right?

But we've grown to have a nice little friendship, so what do I know,

I know a surprisingly large contingency of members here, and I have to say with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions, they're all pretty normal people.

I really want to buy some sort of network drive instead of a USB.

This way I can setup some stuff on my home network and be able to back up data or move stuff around from where ever I am - or play my music/videos from anywhere, etc.

They're pretty cheap nowadays too. Just need to stop being cheap and lazy.

I know that feel. My external drive crapped out on me last month, and I still haven't replaced it with something else.

I have all my stuff on my home PC and a USB drive.

If both died simultaneously I might need some serious mental help. I'd have a breakdown.

I have years worth of data... It'd kill me to try to find everything on other CDs, flash drives, etc.

I've even thought about signing up for the Amazon Web Services thing to store my data long term. It would only cost a few bucks a month to store on Glacier... if I ever need to recover it would cost a fortune, but hopefully it never has to come to that.

I assume we're talking about the same dude. I can call Pat weird since I'm pretty confident he'll never see the post. And if he did, its all good because I could say that to him anyway. We're all weird in some way, so whats the difference. And 12-14 hour work days don't do much favor for anyone's sanity either, so that could be why I can call him weird (and he probably thinks I'm equally as nuts).

This is a real story:

The basement of The Blender Theater at Gramercy during The Get Up Kids show. He was wearing a Devils t-shirt. I was intoxicated. It was fantastic.

Thanks all. It's done but somehow I don't think it will be over for a long time. That dude was a character and a half.

I need hockey more than ever now.

Talk about a major friggen coincidence, wow

Although I didn't know them while doing so, I played hockey against Kyle and Basement Cat in HS and I'm pretty sure I bought food from CJ pretty regularly at Chik Fil A when I was in middle school and she worked there

RG, sorry to hear about your dog dude

I'm really looking for like, 1TB though... Music, movies, pictures, etc. I already have 2GB on Dropbox for daily use in addition to flash drives, etc.

I've considered using AWS Glacier, http://aws.amazon.com/glacier/

It costs $0.01 per GB per month. So even a TB is only $10 a month. I'd probably be looking at only around 300-400 GB for now. It just costs A TON of money to download that data.

It's completely free to move data on to Glacier, and so incredibly cheap to keep it there. But then there's a cost per GB of retrieval/restore, plus an added cost for how fast you download it. It's roughly $0.12/GB out of the Glacier. So, that same TB that costs $10 a month to store now costs you $120 to restore. They also require notice of a few hours to be able to retrieve your stuff... It's pretty cool technology though.

Sorry about your dog RG that's terrible

Cowbell, and OFS you guys like the Get Up Kids?

I never liked them, but years ago a friend used to listen to a few of their songs cause it reminded him of some ex/girl he was trying to get back with. He labeled the files by them on his computer ''Stupid **** I have to listen to''

A few years later I sang their song Valentine to a girl I loved at the time. She was impressed, but I'll tell you I can't listen to the song ever again as it's extremely embarrassing to myself.

It's not so bad. We sometimes have HF Devils meet ups before games.
