Went to see the Lincoln movie tonight. Don't expect intense drama or action, but more of a history lesson in politics and the imperfectness of democracy, if you dig in there is so much that is awesome in this movie. Daniel Day-Lewis, what can he not do as an actor, pretty incredible. I'm not Spielberg's biggest fan, I think he is often too bombastic and therefore flat at the same time. He is disciplined in this one though, he doesn't try to put some steroid heroism in there.
Yep, it wasn't an impediment to me in getting this job. But I'm still not sure I'd recommend a history major to anyone who doesn't want to teach.

I saw it too. Excellent movie. Some minor historical inaccuracies, but very enjoyable for history buffs.
And now comes the slog of losing all the Thanksgiving weight gain.
I've found a good way to prevent the extra Thanksgiving weight.
Cook the stupid dinner.
This was the first year I had to do a majority of the cooking... by dinner time yesterday, the smell of turkey and pumpkin-flavored sweets was intolerable.
I took a bowl of stuffing and sat down to eat it in the furthest room from the kitchen.
That's another reason why Canadian Thanksgiving is better. We get two months to lose weight before getting it back on Christmas. You guys just have a month.

I just bought a network connected hard drive... Only $140 shipped for 3TB on a Black Friday sale. I figure that should have enough space to last at least 5 years. I only really need 1TB, but the extra $30-40 bucks for triple the space made sense.

I meant to leave the house around 9 AM to go to Best Buy, mostly to check out the madness out of tradition. My lack of desire to purchase much (which I knew going in) has caused some serious procrastination. Just leaving now. I don't even know if this still counts as "tradition" leaving this late.... At least I got my free coffee from Quick Chek already. My shopping has been a success.
If I get that Pure Combat stick for 97 bucks this Black Friday is a huge success. But I haven't got the confirmation on it being shipped, so I can't be sure. If I don't get it, I'll be pissed.
I was at Best Buy till 3am becuase I had to wait in two lines with a friend. It would have been a whole lot easier if I could wait for the two 40in tvas while my friend waited for her 2 tablets (No gotta have 1 person per ticket). Good thing my cousin had a friend there so we could get around the lines for our stuff. lol
Edit: Best part was everyone got pissed off learning there was only 20 40in tvs not 40. lol We made $135 selling tickets ($45 each) to the back of the line and making them happy they got door busters. And I did make News 12 at the end of the clip.
