Canucks need a #1 goalie

IMO Cloutier is THE most over rated goalie. How many more years Nuck fans will give him, is beyond me.

TO VANCOUVER: BYRON DAFOE
TO ATLANTA: REID, AND 5TH RD PK.

TO VANCOUVER: FELIX POTVIN (YA RIGHT BUT ID LOVE TO SEE IT)
TO BOSTON: 4TH RD PK

TO VANCOUVER: MARC DENIS
TO CLB: KING, FEDOROV AND 2ND RD PK

Potvin and Dafoe are UFA's according to TSN.

Unless Pascal Leclaire suddenly shows he is an NHL ready #1 goalie, I don't see how Columbus can trade Marc Denis.

CLB isn't challenging for a Cup. Denis probably won't be there when they're a contender. If you can get some good young (potential pieces), go for it. Sign Potivn and get by until Leclaire is ready or make the big trade for a goalie when it's time to contend.

I agree with the help sign, Potvin isn't a #1 anymore and Dafoe is hardly a backup.
Marc Denis on the other hand is worth much more than what's offered.

Cloutier is easily a better goaltender than both Potvin and Dafoe, and at least on par with Denis. If the Canucks make a goaltending change, it will be for a legit #1 goalie that has had playoff sucess, not a downgrade or another unproven.

1. No to Dafoe, not worth it, especially with his injury problems.

2. Potvin? Been down that road before. Played 1/2 a good season in Vancouver, got booed out of town. Not welcome back.

3. Marc Denis would be nice, however, I don't feel the Canucks need to go down that path with Cloutier, Auld, Schneider, Ellis-Plante. The problem with the Canucks goaltending is that Cloutier keeps getting injured because he gets overplayed by Crawford. Auld right now isn't ready to be the #1 in Vancouver, he's close, very close, but as of right now he's a year away in my mind.

No thanks to both. If the Canucks are that desperate to get a goaltender, I'm sure the Caps would entertain offers for Kolzig and could be had for less than a Bertuzzi or Jovo. Theodore's good, but not worth opening up a bigger hole on defense or at forward.

Cloutier and Sopel for Kolzig.

I think it'd work, considering how much money comes with Kolzig.

I think Nuck fans are going to be surprised by how good Cloutier is going to become.

I know an asset is an asset, but weren't Wash. fans complaining of too many offensive D-men prospects?

Ok then its going to have to be some better good young players that Fed Feds and King.

Denis isn't that old by the way. (27)

He should be their goalie when they make their NHL playoff debut.

Switch him with Malik then. Malik would be a *perfect* partner for a guy like Eminger or Morrisonn.
