Do you have a link for the Ruutu transfer? I searched some Finnish sites but have come up with nothing
Yup, Timander will play for MODO the entire season, so he is technically not a lockout player

Didn't Timander sign a contract with Philadelphia just some weeks ago?
If he did, I doubt he would stay when the lockout is over.

nope, he never signed a contract, or at least the terms were not finalized. Timander was looking for an agreement that in case of a lockout he would get to play the entire season in Sweden, which he now will. Bob Clarke confirmed it in this article http://www.courierpostonline.com/new...s/s091404c.htm

Nikolai Zherdev is playing for CSKA Moscow in the RSL. However, MacLean has sent him to the AHL and he'll "be talking with Zherdev's agent in a few days", so I can safely assume that MacLean isn't too keen on the idea of him playing for the team he ran away from. But, as of right now, he's playing CSKA.

it's on Eurohockey.net

http://www.eurohockey.net/transfers/...cgi%3Fdays%3D1

oh, status Unconfirmed. They don't post things there unless there's SOME truth to the rumor, though.

czechhockeyfan,
Thanks. 45 players already confirmed for the Czech Extraliga, very nice!

Does anyone know if Gaborik and Balej are in fact the only ones confirmed to play in Slovakia?

Rumour (70% true): Palffy will play for Skalica after he plays 10 games with Slavia.
Now I will post those players who IF they play in Slovakia, they will play for these teams:

Trencin-Chara
Zvolen- Orszagh, Handzus, Majesky, Zednik (not sure about these)
Poprad- Suchy, Bondra
Satan is still undecided.

He has a two-way contract with PIT and they didnt allow him to play in Europe so he will play in the AHL. But if he would have been let go, he would have played for Poprad.

Tuomo Ruutu was assigned to Norfolk of the AHL yesterday. However, he is reportedly negotiating with HIFK. He may take this lockout as an opportunity to do the rest of his Finnish military service.

Miikka Kiprusoff agrees to play for Timrå (has yet to sign the contract though)

Peter Forsberg will play for MODO the entire season (so he is not a lockout player)
Henrik Sedin
Daniel Sedin
Mattias Weinhandl
Niklas Sundström
Markus Näslund

will all play for MODO as well, although there are still some minor things to work out with SUndström's and Näslund's contracts so they could miss the SEL opener on Tuesday.
