Buck was definitely the icing on the cake in this deal.

This was what I had hoped for regarding the starting rotation (a guy who will eat up innings, Buerhle) and a pitcher with ace like stuff (Josh Johnson) The fact we got a super star bat is simply a bonus, and will surely put us over the edge... anything else the jays do from now on is it just adding sprinkles on top lol.

I'm not sure who starts opening night (probably morrow) but i no we have two pitchers capable of being aces. Morrow and Johnson both have question marks but both have amazing stuff. Then we have two guys who are inning eaters. Buerhle is the definition of strong inning eater #3 work horse. I wanted someone in the mold of Garza and Buerhle fits that to a Tee, I never saw Buerhle as a possibly though. Romero is also able to eat a lot of innings, hopefully he can get his era back below 4 and contribute 200 innings.

Brandon Morrow
Josh Johnson
Mark Buerhle
Ricky Romero
J.A Happ
That's a ridiculous rotation

Does Mike Wilner understand his job as a talk show radio host? Is his answer a variant of "who cares?" for every question? (E.g. who will be the #1 starter? Will losing 3 top 10 prospects hurt? etc.)

Crazy how quickly stuff can change. Romero going into 2012 was our Ace. Morrow played great last year (when healthy), Romero slumps and we do a trade to get 2 great pitchers and now all the pitching rotations I see has Romero in the #4 role haha.

Well depending on where his head's at come Spring, he could very well slot in at 2, just to break up JJ and Morrow as well as the block of lefties in the rotation.

Mike Wilner is a scrub homer, I can't stand that clown. He is cocky and treats his callers like garbage. I'd love to call in and call him out on it someday.

To be honest, I'm still pretty disappointed with the team's offseason. Two glaring holes still at DH and LF...The team has still yet to pay up for a big name free agent batter (Josh Hamilton, I'm looking at you)...more of the same in Rogers land. Although this will sell a few jerseys, no doubt.

81-81 is my prediction for next year.

One day, I will call in and give my 2 cents to Wilner. And when I do, I imagine him cutting me off and going to break with a tear in his eye.

They have put their money where their mouth is in a shocking, mind-blowing fashion. I applaud that immensely.

Honestly, being a Toronto sports fan, is there any other mindset you should have? I am so used to disappointment that I just sort of expect it...now that something good has happened, I'm on cloud 9.

No doubt.
I am in the same boat. Haha. Good day to be a Jays fan thats for damn sure

I'm still waiting on Greinke and Sanchez to really solidify this rotation.

In all honesty though... JB has probably had a single conversation with a guy like Marisnick or Nicolino.

I'm sure the well wishes will come for Alvarez and Hech.

Honestly sure it sucks to lose Nicolino, Marisnick and Hech... because they're top tier prospects... but at the end of the day we didn't have room for every single one of these players... and by the time they were ready to be stars Bats, EE, Morrow etc. would have been on their way out.

The players we've got put us more than just "WIN NOW" mode... we're in "WIN SOON" mode. This nucleus should be good enough (with added pieces such as Gose, D'arnaud etc.) to contend for the next half decade.

The absolute sickening thing is there are people here now who will complain that we don't have an all-star at 2nd and LF.

And dear lord if this team loses 2 of 3 to open up the year... I can't WAIT to hear the "What was AA thinking taking on all this big $$ for overpaid veterans"

This is going to be interesting... with a new manager coming in, I could see him going with the guy who has the best ST on opening day.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ricky starts on opening night if he has a great preseason and is back to 2011. But I would put my money on Morrow, he's probably earned it. I think they'll split up the L/R though.

Morrow
Romero
Johnson
Buehrle
Happ
