Been a tough November for fox between last Tuesdays election, and the idea of a Canadian market in their sacred playoff rights

I know Buehrle has a bad contract, particularly the back end of it, but he's had 12 straight years of at least 10 wins (yes, I know!) and over 200 innings pitched.

What pitcher on the market, or available through trade, can say that?

This type of consistency is just what the Jays needed for their starting rotation.

I saw the innings pitched and was thrilled as well. Of course you can wish his ERA was a little lower or something like that but we have the hitting to make it not really matter. An ERA of 3.74 and being consistent around 4 for the last many seasons is just what we needed.

He's trying to make amends with Canada for what he did to Montreal.

The AL East is so stacked right now (i.e. lol Farrell).

I'd have to imagine this makes the manager's spot a lot more enticing.

Couple weeks ago Damien Cox said the Jays were basically a farm system to man teams in the league, would ask what he thinks now but he's probably well into his 12 course meal, consisting mostly of crow and foot.

Durability is the biggest concern in the Jays rotation, so Buehrle will be a welcome addition. He pitched in the AL most of his career too. I'm pretty pumped for him.

Wow I can honestly say I never saw this type of trade happening and hopefully it makes the Blue Jays a better team next season.

Wow. So, as promised, I eat my words about Rogers proudly. I'm not entirely thrilled with the trade from a baseball perspective as I loved Marisnick and Nicolino in particular, but I can't say Rogers is just a cheapskate owner. They have put their money where their mouth is in a shocking, mind-blowing fashion. I applaud that immensely.

To the elitists, suggest a user tag and/or avatar if you like and I'll sport it.

Wow!

I never thought the Jays would be on the receiving end of one these trades. Great timing as well. The Jays had a tough year and now, in November, they're stealing the spotlight... Lockout be damned.

If I was a Marlins fan, I'd be pissed.

some reactions to the trade lol

paul maholm ‏@paul_maholm
I think the marlins r clearing money for Hamilton, greinke, Bourn, swisher so they can trade them for th Yankees or Red Sox next off season.

Jerry Crasnick ‏@jcrasnick
"They've lost all credibility,'' said one exec. "I don't know how they can even show their faces in South Florida now.'' #marlins

Jim Rome ‏@jimrome
Have to love the Marlins moving into an embarrassing, but brand new Major League ballpark. & filling it with Triple A'ers just a year later.

Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal
Scout says of OF Jake Marisnick, going from #BlueJays to #Marlins in blockbuster: "He has a long way to go with the bat. Complicated swing."

That last one's to take a little of the pain from losing Marisnick lol (I still think he'll be a stud, but can't complain about the deal).
