CBJ: Run around the defensive zone till either a goal is scored or Denis ices the puck. Seriously.

It's a bit of a myth that Ottawa plays the trap. Martin introduced it when he first came to the Sens -- as the team had limited offensive talent at the time -- but he's adjusted the sytem over the years to become much more aggresive. The Sens are now a major puck pursuit and pressuring team.

You don't come third in the league in goals scored by playing a pure trap.

As to boring, Hossa, Alfredsson, Havlat, Bonk, White, Schastlivy, Fisher and Spezza score some of the prettier goals in the league.

The Canadiens play a "well balanced with a defensive tendency" style.

Yeah, those Senators who scored 263 goals last year are REAL boring to watch. I certainly can't watch more than ten minutes of a Sens game without falling asleep...

I'm pretty sure the Devils were the top scoring team in 2001 (I might be wrong) and when they began their trapping days in 1994, they finished second.

Yet, they were boring.....

Based off the Devils offense, I'd say they play a shoot AT the goalie system. Or a shoot low, aim high system. Either works. Their power play? An Intellivision™.

(I kid, of course.)

No, the Devils are boring because they don't let the other team score.

San Jose employs a Dr. Jekyl Mr. Hyde system to confuse their opponents in to wondering if they are going to have to show up and play hockey, or collect two easy points.

(When they are on their game though, they play a pretty slow paced tight checking game.)

Canucks: Forget defence, just outscore the other team, who cares about GAA?
OR
Canucks: Score a lot of goals, let the other team catch up

The speedy Oilers are arguably the most exciting team in the NHL to watch.
