Game: What happens first?

The game goes like this: someone posts two scenarios. The next poster picks which they think happens first, then posts two more scenarios, and so on. For example:

Poster 1: Vancouver winning a cup vs. Philly winning a cup

Poster 2: Vancouver. Lockout ends vs. Bettman is fired

Poster 3: Lockout ends....(and so on)

I'll start: Yandle is traded vs. Phoenix is relocated.

Columbus makes playoffs. I think Oilers can be very good, but actually winning a cup is just so hard. Along with skill, and toughness, you need luckily bounces along the way as well. No guarantee for any team to get that.

Canadiens win the cup vs Maple Leafs win the cup?

Canadiens. If they can add a few more pieces, they have a goalie in Price that can carry them a la Quick/Thomas.

Lu is traded vs Vancouver plays their next regular season NHL game

EDIT: To above: Lindy Ruff before Trotz. AK not being offered a deal proves Poile is 100% behind Ol' No Neck

Van plays next game.

A southern state gets a team vs. a southern team gets relocated north.

Yakupov. I think he'll explode into the NHL the same way Ovechkin did.

A 20+ game suspension, or a crackdown on obstruction?

Canucks win cup. Nick Lidstrom has not conclusively been outed as a robot.

Lockout ends, or Christmas comes?

Do we get to the year 3000 or Teemu Selanne retires?

He'll probably retire in 2999.

The Leafs make it to the conference finals or Seattle's new team wins the cup?

Selanne in the year 2087, having surpassed all of Gretzky's career scoring records and Gordie Howe's longevity records, decides hockey has become boring for him and decides to make the switch to the NFL to play for the Mexico City Outlaws. So if we're talking retirement from hockey, that happens first.

An NHL player exceeds 7'0" or an NHL contract exceeds 20 years

Owing, of course, to the 2999-00 lockout.

Islanders wins their division

Cup finally comes back to Canada or a defenseman hits 30 goals

ps: I know Mike Green's done it not too long ago, but it's still a hard feat
