Man, Thiessen is bad. His save% is going to be hovering in the .870 strata soon.
Bennett at 21 pts through 23 games.
beat reporters at the game saying the 4 goals are not really thiesens fault. However morrow being a -4 and causing 3 turnovers is probably not helping.
Just looking at the box score. Morrow a -4, is he really playing that bad or is it Thiesen?
Sounds like Morrow's been bad.

Morrow's shot went wide and triggered an odd man rush the other way. Tangradi couldn't catch up to Butler and he ties at 1.

Bad breakout by Joe Morrow finds its way to Harri Pesonen who scores. 2-1 Albany,

Morrow passes a bit to hard, puck jumps Trevor Smiths stick, Bobby Butler scores his hat trick shorthanded. 4-2 WBS.

These goals are not Thiessen's fault. Joe Morrow is a -4 tonight. You don't have to look at if you want to place blame.
I don't know how much I can buy Thiessen being very blameless in the whole thing. Albany is either the worst or 2nd worst offense in the league. They're missing a good NHL player in Henrique and aren't really stocked with good AHL scorers either. Despite that, Thiessen has allowed almost as many goals as saves so far. Just checked, his save% is at .874 right now, almost 50 pts worse than Zatkoff. Thiessen was terrible last year too, it's not that uncommon for goalies to just lose it and that seems to be the case with him. He might be the worst goalie in the AHL at this point.
I'm not necessary trying to defend Morrow's play since I'm not watching the game but when your goalie is that bad, it makes every little thing the forward or defense group do look bad. I mean, ****, Albany came into this game average 2.2 goals per and halfway through the second they had 4 on about 12 shots with little pp time.
4-3 now, Megna from Thompson and Dumoulin
There might be something there in Megna. He looked good in the preseason and has produced despite playing a limited role. 5 pts in 9 games after missing a lot of time and not playing big minutes is pretty impressive.

For the record, I completely agree with you on Thiessen. I'm not watching the game either so I can't offer an opinion on his play, so I can only forward the opinions of people actually watching.
And believe me, I'd much rather it be Thiessen's fault than Morrow's.
Is he just walking out of the net when they're about to shoot?
Sweet Jesus, are we ever going to miss Zatkoff if he's out for any length.
In my head I'm envisioning every goal to be of the Talbot shorthander variety in game 3 where MAF just started convulsing when the puck got near him and played it into his goal unabated.

OH GOD, KILL IT WITH FIRE! I don't want those memories.
Should have traded Thiessen when he had some value. Great.
Now Butler with his 5th point.
mixed with a little
Anyways, that Uher kid.... it sounds like Sundqvist is similar to him, but with better size. Physical, tenacious and has scoring potential. Two of those type of prospects in the system
His post AHL all-star season, could have got something decent for him. I think the big thing was when he came up to the NHL and flopped big time, his confidence was shot and he has never been able to get it back. He needed to be aggressive because of his lack of size and when your confidence is gone, you're not going to come out and challenge the shooter like he needs to be effective.
